Intermittent connections (Xbox One & Xbox 360); Friends List, Achievements, Activity

For over a week now I have been dealing with incomplete or non-existent connections on both my Xbox One and Xbox 360. On the Xbox 360 I keep getting a "Some services are not available" message and on the XB1 I have been getting intermittent connections to
Live (Usually says something is wrong on Microsoft's end), my Friends List does not load all of the time, my Achievements do not load all of the time, my Activity does not load all of the time and I cannot access the Holiday Deals nor load the Store. The Xbox
One and Xbox 360 iPad app also do not consistently connect to my account. Oddly, the XB1 iPhone app works fine.

    Country: US

    ISP: Comcast

    Modem: Scientific Atlanta DPX2100

    Wireless Router: Linksys WRT54gs

DSL Reports Speed Tests: 8 Down 4 Up

    NAT: Open

When did this begin: The last time we had a "Purchase and Content Usage" problem on Live about a week or so ago.

Contacted Support through Twitter. This has been difficult due to Twitter's limitations. (That is why I am posting here)

Ran the usually network tests on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One; all came back fine.

    Uninstalled and reinstalled iPad apps.

I power cycled the Xbox One multiple times.

I've removed and re-downloaded my profile on my 360 (this fixed a mismatch on my gamerscore but nothing else).

I recently bought a new Smart TV and turned off it's wifi just in case that was interfering.

I turned off everything that might use the wifi connection.

I connected my old TV and turned off my new Smart TV.

I created a new account on my Xbox One and it had similar problems.

I can't do a wired connection due to distance.

I found two similar issues on the support forums (One resolved, the other open)

    http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_one_support/f/4267/t/1869009.aspx

    http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_one_support/f/4267/t/1750982.aspx

I am thinking it's a Comcast issue. It could be the older modem that I am using or the fact that Comcast is VERY stingy when it comes to download speeds. I think that they are throttling them even lower but I do not have the time to research. They claim
that I am getting 30 download but my tests have shown otherwise.

    :)

Can't see my Xbox One activity on my Xbox.com profile

Yes, I have the same problem. Can't see my XBox One achievements and activity in my profile at xbox live site, only my old XBox 360 data. I am online and play in Battlefield 4 (One) in multiplayer. It means I have connection to xbox live from the console,
but where are my achievements and activity for One???

After Xbox Live came back online I noticed that I am able to connect again but with similar intermittent problems. The difference now is that the Xbox One shows a packet loss. My Xbox 360 complained about the NAT. This never happened before.

I ordered a new modem that should be hear by the end of next week.

Has anyone else been going through this since the last update?

It seems MS is doing some stuff behind the scenes. They may finally be securing their servers. It seems to have hit a lot of people and me also. Had me thinking it was me until I verifyed my network was fully operational. A reboot worked. But what bothers
me is whatever they are doing behind the scenes is effecting the entire console. It was freezing it up and also locking out my controllers. I mean it would be nice if they informed us of intermittent issues. I would never mess with people service unless a
change control was filed and customers were informed. But MA must have felt their either couldn't tell everyone or couldn't wait and just had to do what they did. I wouldn't mind taking off a day or a week off and let them have at it. But I would just like
to be informed. I rather not be having to deal with the crappy service and just let me know what's your done.

It has been very frustrating. I've had XBL for 11 years and have never had this much trouble. What's odd is that just out of the blue I started getting disconnects and then started losing access to achievements, friends list, etc. This was happening before
the hack. The only thing that I did was download the December update. I was hoping that once things came back online they would be better. Seems that they got a little worse. Now this is costing me $70 to replace my modem in hopes that it fixes the problems.
After that I will buy a new router if things do not improve. Both are old but both worked fine right up until December.

    Gamerscore not updating

    @Lance:

That's because Xbox.com (and Windows Phone and Xbox 360) do not show your Xbox One activity, however the overalls should tally.

On the 360 if you go to the Achievement list the very top item will be 'Xbox One Games' which says the total Gamerscore earned on the One, but there is no breakdown or activity as such.

    this may help

    https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/friends-social-activity/friends-groups/view-xbox-one-friends-on-xbox-360

On Xbox One, a friend is anyone you’ve added to your friends list. Adding new friends on Xbox One doesn’t require that they send a friend request first.
When you sign in to an Xbox One console, your Xbox 360 friends will automatically appear in your friends list, as well as in your followers list. If you accept a new friend
request sent from an Xbox 360 console, you’ll see them as both a friend and a follower on Xbox One.

However, friends who’ve been added on Xbox One won’t automatically show up on your Xbox 360 list. If you plan to play with them on your Xbox 360, you’ll have to send a friend request through your Xbox 360 console. Once they accept,
you’ll see them in your friends list on both of your consoles.

If you go into the 360 game menu on the xbox one you may be able to see this.
