Intermittent connection issues after installing new gateway

A few questions here, for all of you having this issue:

Make/Model of Router/Gateway

Make of console (arcade, eltie, "s")

Are there constant or intermittent connection issues with any other device?

When did this connection issue begin, and did anything happen prior to the connectivity issue?

What error message, not code, are you getting?

Still having intermittent dc's after manually inputting ip address and changing back to WEP security (which had some success. Moved my xbox to my smaller tv which is near the router gateway (full bar strength) and, while the connection seems better, I'm
still dc'ing on a regular basis. Since this location is close enough (unobstructed/unobscured) I'm just going to get a 25 ft ethernet cable and hardline it. I play online a lot and am tired of dealing with this issue. I''m reasonably certain the issue lies
with the new equipment from Comcast, not the xbox as I never had near the issues with the old equipment. The gateway is an Arris model TG862G/CT if anyone who sees this has had a similar issue.

I'm having the same intermittent connection problems. I'll boot up the 360 and have about 5/10 minutes of perfect connection, and then get disconnected straight away. PC connection is fine. It has been doing it all of last night, though it was working fine
all day today until about 5 o'clock, where the intermittent issues came up.

Connection test:

Your console can connect to Xbox LIVE, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to ICMP responses.

Error code:

W: 0000-000B

X: 0001-8005

Y: 0000-0000

Z: 0000-0000

Xbox is connected to modem via router and switch. ISP = Virgin

There is only one reason I can think of to update or factory default you router's firmware , connectivity , I've seen it work before and it's usually the first thing they will have you do if you ever have to call your routers support number...I always
like to try everything on my end so I can say " naw , already did that" .....hope your call back works

There are very few if any reason to have to update the firmware on your router, especially if its from the last couple of years(mine is current and not having any updates for this model anyway). Literally nothing has changed on my network/Internet connection
since the date in question.

Re installing didn't work, even tried clearing the Persistent Storage and unplugging the console for 30 sec as some people have been saying "fixes all issues with your xbox one". More or less I'm up to a factory reset and reinstalling 450 gigs worth of
games (MCC being a digital copy). I've called Rockstar but they are "Experiencing higher than usual call volumes" so I am patiently awaiting a call back.
