    Intermittent black screen after update on 30/04/2020


    This is my first post as i've never had a problem with any update before, until recently. My Xbox 1x updated on 30/04/2020 and now i get intermittent problems with the screen flickering and going black . The flickering started yesterday for no reason and i thought it may have been my TV. I Tried my PC input which didn't show any problems that were present on my xbox so that ruled that out, I have tried 3 new HDMI cables thinking that may be the problem but that didn't solve anything which then left just the console itself. Even during bootup the screen flickered black and showed screen tearing. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks

    Hello!!

    I see that you have made several checks but you have tried to change the HDMI cable of the TV port, if you have it connected in the HDMI 1 test to connect it in the HDMI 2 or 3.

    Another thing you can do if you have a family member or a friend is to try the xbox at home or on another TV, otherwise you should take your xbox to check

    On October 30, 2021, I tried downloading again, and it worked. After the download, I was able to launch MSFS 2020, reinstall all the updates, and fly.

    Problems with Xbox One X and Samsung ue55nu7096

    It's hard to say whether this is an Xbox One console or Samsung HDTV issue. I have seen other reports in the forums about similar short black screen issues and even experience it myself intermittently with my Day One Xbox One and Samsung KS8000.

    IIRC, one forum poster theorized it may be related to a failed notification (ie a pop up should appear but instead the whole screen goes black temporarily) or is somehow related to when an update for a game or app becomes available. I'll try to keep an eye
    on game updates in future to see if there is a correlation between black screens and available updates.
