    managed to fix this myself. i did two things, not sure which one fixed the issue, but i guess it was nr2

    1) logged in with another xbox gamertag (a silver account i had for some time) though AOEO live interface

    2) deleted my original profile through AOEO live interface and signed in with it again, forcing the system to download the profile again

    I would suggest that you perform a
    power cycle     on your console when this type of behavior starts to happen frequently.

    It would also probably be a good idea for you to download the 'Xbox Insider hub' to report the problem of the games crashing to your home dashboard.

    Once you download the Xbox Insider hub. Simply hold down your controllers guide button to access the power menu.

    Once on the power menu, select 'Report a problem' and then find the respective category to report the problem.
