Intel Services Interfering with IP Helper Service

Here is a solution i have found for people suffering from there server connectivity being blocked, or unable to join multiplayer servers

- Open the windows 10 service manager and find the IP Helper Service. right click it and restart the service

- recheck your server connectivity status

for some people this will fix the issue permanently. for me though it only fixed it for about 2 minutes then i would be kicked from the game server and my connectivity would revert to the "Blocked State"

If you are having this issue i have found a group of intel services that are directly causing issues with the IP Helper service from working.

this is the final solution that has finally allowed me to stay connected.

- open Cortana and search for "System Configuration" open the application.

- open the services tab and on the bottom left check the box for "Hide all Microsoft services" (if you cant find it no biggie)

- disable the following services by unchecking their box.

-Intel Online Connect Helper

-Intel Online Connect

-Intel Connect Access Legacy CS ...

-Intel Online Connect Access

-restart your computer

I hope this can help some people as it seems to be a very niche issue? and Microsoft support seem to be oblivious to these issues, as i don't blame them i guess as its Intel services causing the issues...

Port forwarding question

Essentially the DMZ opens up the IP address to all ports, so saves you setting up manual port forwarding, UPnP, etc.

Using the DMZ doesn't solve the issue for me, because DMZ IPs will use the ports the target service requires, but a port cannot be used by multiple devices at the same time, which is where UPnP is a better alternative, as per my previous post.

I really need the X1 to utilise UPnP to allow it and the 360s to be connected to Live at the same time all with an Open NAT. As it stands, as soon as a 360 talks to Live, it takes the ports and because the X1 isn't using UPnP to assign an alternative port into the service, it falls back to a Strict NAT. What should happen is the first device to connect to the service will use the actual ports and then the next device to use the same service is allocated different ports that it routes into the same service.

Xbox Server Connectivity - Connected but changes to Blocked after a few minutes in party chat.

It seems to be the only fix is by resetting 'IP Helper' located in 'Services'.

I found the fix after who knows how many hours i found my IP Helper was manual. Used this and it fixed the problem.

Solution 4: Check to see if the IP Helper service is running

For Teredo to function normally, the IP Helper service needs to be set to start automatically and running. To check:

Enter Services in the search field on your toolbar (Cortana).
Select Services from the search results.
Check the Startup Type for the following service to make sure it’s set to the default value:
IP Helper, Startup Type: Automatic

If the service has been altered from its default startup type, you can revert it back to the default value:

In the Services application, double-click on IP Helper.
In the Properties window, select Automatic from the
Startup type drop-down list.
Under Service status, click the Start button.
Click on OK to save the changes.
