Insufficient capacity fort streaming on peak times

Hello there!

Just a hint (hopefully one of so many after a while, that you have a reason to react):

At the moment you should sell any XBOX Fitness related content in Germany (probably Western Europe) as "not available on prime time". ;-(

The last weeks I tried literally hundereds of combinations of the following (so please don't ask me to do that again, I already did it and nothing inidicates that any of theses measures are the reason for the problem / see below):

- starting another game and restating XBOX Fitness

- shuting down the XBOX ONE

- shuting down the XBOX ONE completely and restarting

- removing the power supply of my XBOX ONE and restarting

- doing the same with another XBOX ONE

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

- going offline via settings, just by unplugging the ethernet cable or switching of WIFI (tried both types of connections) or by disconnecting from my provider or by turning of (soft or hard reset) my dslmodem

- prioritizing my XBOX ONE up to "realtime" in the settings of my DSL Modem/router

- using another router/provider (at a friend living in another town)

- turning off (like in "off") any other device (mobiles, tablets, ...)

...

you name it ...

When you start XBOX Fitness at primetime (esp. on Saturdays) you get stuttering and finally "service not available" in intervalls of seconds.

This happens also when you start at e.g. 18:15 with P90X 60 minute workouts and happen to "slide" into prime time.

Some days its worse, some its not - as with peak traffic.

All indicators (e.g. trying dls afterwards, speed tests, playing other games online) tell me that my connection is excellent. Even XBXO Fitness tells me, that it stutters/freezes in HD!!!

Tell me, if you can think of another reason but Microsoft's strategy for managing capacity is a little too economic.

(They decided, not to keep the last few videos in cache, so they should deliver a decent streaming service, I think.)

Xbox fitness won't load ???

Error Code 1000 and other issues with streaming being interrupted are a different issue than Xbox Fitness not loading. Insufficient capacity fort streaming on peak times is more suited for the streaming issues than this topic.

 

Insufficient HD Capacity

I know it's not the solution your asking for but have you considered storing some older content of yours on a large flash drive? The Xbox is compatible with a fair few. I used to do this a lot with my last xbox.

 

Just for info:

Probably because many (now disappointed) new customers try to start working out seriously after the end of the winter break in Germany, the times XBOX Fitness is not playable due to stuttering/freezing video streams extended somewhat: At the moment it is
also unplayable on weekdays after typical office hours.

Of course many of the new customers would stop working out soon, either way.

But I think the lack of streaming capacity really keeps the persons working with XBOX Fitness a small elite circle.

Unfortunately my neighbour doesn't accept me anymore to hop around my living room at 5 a.m..

When XBOX Fitness is actually available to paying customers.

Might be Microsoft figured out, that they also don't need the customer type that played this game 350 hrs since november 2013.

Thank you for not even allow the program to cache 30 minutes video data with an expiry time of 60 minutes - these issues would probably not have never aroused, not at the end of 2013, not in these weeks.

Having the same issue here but during mid workout. Nothing more annoying than halfway through and it starts freezing up on the video stream.

An easy fix for them would be just to let us download the paid for workouts. Then we wouldn't have to stream. Just a thought

 

We've been having these issues in USA since launch. Some days/times are fine and then the next day, same time, "Service Unavailable". I'm going to go offline and use the Insanity DVD's for the next couple of months so maybe they can fix it in the meantime?

I really like to mix P90X, Insanity and Tracy Andersons Workouts for XBOX One and do 10 Minutes of Tai Chi afterwards.

XBOX Fitness is the reason why I got GOLD and bought actually two consoles (one at each of my places). And I don't think 70 € its too much for just five workouts (P90X, Insanity).

(Actually I changed from 6MBit to LTE 50 MBit to 100 MBit which leaves me with one more year to pay for the second - because I tried anything to get this working - and I wouldn't blame Microsoft to much for requiring a player to have 100 Mbit instead of
using their bitlocker to allow some video material to be buffered on the consoles hard disk - I mean: Who would copy the videos only? To copy DVDs is way cheaper! And the game is on the disk anyway ... - but I am disappointed for having thrown away all this
money.)

I also like the idea of Kinect but for me only XBOX Fitness so far lives up to it.

Might be I would be better of having bought a much cheaper but stronger console and some DVDs?

Today is the first day I used a DVD. (They came on Friday, but on Saturday and Sunday I was able to work out in the morning.) Today it was already unplayable at 14:30.

So sad ...

Feels like starting to say goodbye.

My daily update:

Today was the first time, I experienced the "service not available" message appearing even before the introductory video started. The lack off capacity prevents the legal notice to be displayed. Alas, nobody can possibly be injured by "using" XBOX Fitness.

My classic DVD delivered again.

I Germany we have a saying that translates:

"It is better to have a sparrow in you hand, but a dove on a roof."

Same problem in Singapore. I can't beleive MS hasn't fixed it. 70$ wasted in insanity. Really disappointed.

 

Sad enough!

In february in Germany you could play (with a few to no interruptions) except for two hours on weekdays. On weekends it seemed to be even better.

Since the update for me XBOX Fitness the "service not available" message doesn't show up that often. The Game seems to tolerate insufficient streaming speed for a longer time or they changed the net code to actually shorten the breaks and when it stops it
stops more often in "normal" pause mode.

As if everything were O.K..

While using DVDs now I still give XBOX Fitness at least a chance every week - the program helped me a great deal working on my back so that I went down from three pain pills a day to three a month. This worked won weekdays in the morning an the afternoon.
About 10 times the game freezed , 3-4 times of these it went also to the pause screen during an 30 minutes (+ freeze time) workout. Today the video froze about twenty times in 12 minutes again - Sunday 2 pm.

Just to make sure:

Not playable on Sunday 14:00.

Not playable today (Tuesday) 16:00.

Of course you loose the progress of your session spanning achievements. (Usually I really like games to behave that way - if only XBOX Fitness would let me play ...)

I assume that allowing the game to buffering only a few minutes would do the trick here.

I can't see, how buffering a complete workout (or let's say three hours) would be more problematic when it comes to pirate copies that streaming, esp. when there are plenty of DVDs out there "ready" to be copied.

Anyway.

I paid for greatly value added but unfortunately unplayable XBOX Fitness workouts.

I paid for DVDs.

Is Microsoft Support reading that?

Same for me, having issues for a while now, not only during peak hours! That's incredibly annoying! I have a 100 MBit fiber internet connection, so I think my bandwith souldn't be an issue. Please, just let us download the workouts and everything is fine.
Or at least, keep the workouts we've done already! That'll save you a lot of bandwith and a lot of complaints. Paying for Gold Service and actually getting no Service at all! :-(
