Instant-On (Unresponsive)

Sorry if this issue has already been brought up.

Trying to power on console , by saying "xbox on". It turns on by stays at a black screen and seems unresponsive. I figured it was installing or checking for updates, but after leaving it alone for 2 hours and came back, it was still in the same state
with a black screen. It has not always done this till around 3/7/14. The only way to clear the problem, but not fix, is by holding the power button to completely shut it off or unplug the power supply.

Xbox One needs Keyboard

Xbox is unresponsive when using instant-on

I have been having this problem also since the March update, did everything I could to fix it full reset, factory reset and even energy saving, it was fine earlier today but became unresponsive I could move around on the home screen however nothing would
open though, now it cant even load up just stuck on the Xbox one loading screen with three dots for 15+ minutes.

Just hope the April Patch is something, would be better than nothing otherwise its just an expensive paperweight.

This is a known problem on these fourms everytime a topic is created on the issue. It is locked by MS support. We all await a firmware update to fix this. There seems to be no fix other than a work around and that is to use energy saving Rather than instant
on.

Hey there Tipso Burglar!

I'm sincerely sorry to hear about the issue! Based off of what you have mentioned in your post, I would first ensure that your Xbox One's power supply plugged directly into a wall socket.

If the issue persists after trying that, or your console has already been plugged directly into a couple different wall sockets while this issue occurs, my next suggestion is to

Restore the Xbox One to Factory Defaults. Follow that link for steps to do that! Keep in mind that will uninstall any apps or games you have on the Xbox One console's HDD.

If the issue continues to persist after trying my suggestions above, your console may need to be repaired. To begin that process, visit our Online Service Center.

Keep us posted on how it goes!

PS: I left out an important detail: The unresponsive state happens right after a cold reboot. Once it becomes responsive, it stays that way unless something happens to an app. For example, once the Amazon Instant Video app locked up and then the UI was
in the unresponsive state. However, usually it is right after boot, though not 100% of the time either. Reminds me of early windows...

Yeah thanks @Goooner1 - appreciate you filling us in to what's been going on. Sounds promising. I've been trying to get onto this dang Preview Program so I can specifically report on this problem and other suggestions, but after months and a few friends
shooting a request every now and then still been unsuccessful getting in.

I understand MS's view on not making public that there is a problem because it sounds like it may be a batch of systems and not completely widespread. The whole idea and concept of the Preview program is a fantastic way of getting to the problems efficiently.

I look forward to the public release of the April patch when it comes out, with some optimism
