Instant on not working after being turned off for a few hours

Right it started doing it again , so should i turn instant on off and my console turns off after 6 hours of inactivity ?

When I've had this problem, what worked for me is that I switch off the "Instant on" mode and turn the console off and after a few seconds I turn it back on again... I assume that this is what 'GODofH3LLfire 2" is talking about but for me it worked without
unplugging the console...

Hard reset didn't help me. I still have issues with the console not powering on after being off for a few days. One thing I did notice is that when I first turn off the console with "instant on" enabled the power supply light will be white. "Xbox On" and
controller turn on works. However after about a day of being off the power supply light will turn orange. When this happens I have about a 50-50 chance getting the console to turn on with the controller and "Xbox On" won't work at all.

This is a shame because I have had 3 friends wanting to get an X1 and I told them to hold off till these bugs are fixed.

After a few days of tests, it seems working pretty well now.

The only strange thing is that after 20 minutes of being powered off (always in instant mode) the Xbox app takes two downloads to start the first one, while, if I turn on the Xbox remotely, I’m able to see my games list change in real time and to download immediately. I have the feeling that the console isn’t able to proper communicate remotely when in a deep state of “sleep” (20+ minutes after turning it off and putting it in instant on).

Do I have to consider this a normal behavior? Or i should be able to download and see my games list change in real time from remote even when the console is turned off (instant on)?

Sorry ZeroAvix, but that is incorrect.

With instant on the console doesn't actually turn off when in standby, it just goes into a low power state and it keeps a connection to the internet to search for updates.

UnleashedLemon your understanding of instant on is correct, however i'm not sure about game installations being possible when in standby, i shall test this out right now and post my results in a few hours.
