    So today when I turned on my Xbox One I noticed it did not start up in Instant on mode but instead on Energy Saving Mode. So first thing I did was double check my settings so it was set to Instant On, it was, and restarted my Xbox One but it booted up on
    energy saving mode. Next I turned off my Xbox One, unplugged it and let it sit there for 15 minutes. I then plugged it in, turned on my Xbox One, made sure it was set on Instant On and then restarted it, but it booted up in energy saving mode again.

    For what it is worth I have the new Xbox One dashboard update. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

    xbox one still has a strict NAT with DMZ host

    As long as you don't have instant on you will be open. Its a known fact that instant on doesn't play nice with upnp. I need that as part of my network so no instant on for me.

    Purchasing and Downloading via Xbox.com....

    This is working as long as you set your Xbox one to instant on. Then the download will start after your purchased it with the smartglass app or on the Web site.

    If you change your Xbox One's power mode to "Energy Saving" instead of "Instant On" this will work again. There seems to be a bug in the new dashboard that prevents double-off from working reliably when the console's using the Instant On setting.

    Possibly because the updates are so much bigger than the 360? Bigger updates means longer downloads and longer installs.

    Do what I and other people do, leave your console in "instant on" mode, then updates are downloaded as soon as they are available, usually when your at work. For example the last system update happened and I didn't even know it had updated untill I noticed
    the "what's new" tile on the dashboard.

    Instant on is the same thing as standby mode in the updated version so it’s not longer called “instant on” it’s new name is “Standby”
