Instant on mode not working

    Instant on mode not working


    Hi all, the instant on feature is not working on my xbox one s, it is set for on and backround updates to work but it switches on like its on energy saving mode. I've cleared game saves, xbox 360 saves and deleted games I don't play. Sometimes I need to
    push the on button a second time to get it to power up even though it makes the chime on the first press. It was working fine until the November update. Any ideas as I'm going mad!!??

    Instant-On Mode not working

    I am using Instant-On mode with a new Halo 5 console but it does not shutdown correctly. I can turn it off with the Kinect command or the controller but after shutdown the LED on the power brick turns amber instead of remaining white. It will not respond
    to 'Xbox On' and it will not turn on with the controller. Only pressing the console power button works.

    Energy-Saving mode works correctly - it does respond to the controller to turn on.

    I have tried with a different power brick, different power outlet, unplugging all peripherals (hard drives, USB TV adapter, Kinect sensor) but the same thing happens.

    I have removed the power for several minutes and tried a factory reset. I have tried different controllers (they have been paired and do work when the console is on).

    I am in the NXOE preview program but I removed this new console and it reverted to the old dashboard. The same issue still occurs.

    Is this likely a hardware issue?

    For "Xbox on" to work properly you need to have it set to instant-on.

    I'm sure it is, but go to settings, then all settings then start up mode. Turn instant on mode off if it's on and then reset your console. Turn it back on and turn back on instant-on.

    See if that helps.

    TV app auto launches on 1 of 2 consoles.

    Booting to TV only works if the console is in Instant On mode (as opposed to low power mode). Is it possible that's the issue?
