Instant on game updates

on the Xbox one, Xbox one S, and Xbox one X the instant on feature is supposed to allow for the console to perform any updates while the console is off. This feature has not worked in a long while. Games, apps and the console itself does not update while
powered off in this mode.

Instant On Update?!?

I asked thus last time but I don't think I asked it clearly. Say if you turned on your xbox one in instant on played a game and while still on the game turn off the xbox while in instant on and then turn it back on the game is still running because it's
in the RAM. For example for me I played a bit of halo and turned the console off without quitting the game then turned it back on and halo was still running when I booted it up so what im asking is if halo is still running in the background with the console
off can it still Download the updates? Or do you have to quit the game then turn off the console and also does the updates just download or download and install or does it download then when you boot up the game it installs

In general, the console will recognize that there is an update (subject to non-peak times and required patch vs. game updates/patches) but not download and install.

Each game is different depending upon how it loads up, saves, resumes play, if you're playing online vs. locally.

BUT I believe your actual question is this, will the update download and apply?

-Each game is different, so lets use Diablo 3 as an example.

-There was a patch weeks ago, so when I turned the system back on from "instant -on" the game itself asked me if I wanted to download the update, and this caused the game to save. Prompt that there is an update---> Ask if you want to start the update--->Stop
playing-->download update in queue-->install complete-->relaunch game.
