Instant on Always pulls up random apps at startup

Here is an example. Last night we were watching Netflix and when done we shut it down. Then this morning when I turn it on the Fitness apps tries to start but errors. This is nothing new as unless I go back to the home screen and hit the settings button
to quit the actual App who knows what it will pull up next. I do know that whatever it pulls up will error out and it will almost always be something other than what I was using last. I have had it try to start a game, try to start an app, open IE and all
will error.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Question about external hard drive activity with instant on mode

It would most likely if you have instant-on enabled with keep my console/games/apps up to date and when xbox is off turn off my storage unchecked...

Xbox One Console > Settings app > Power & startup > Power mode and startup

 

Having to be present

This kind of stuff should be automated when you set your console to "Instant-On", and have it set to automatically update stuff.

This is achieved by opening the Guide, and going to Settings > All Settings.

Go to Power & Startup > Power mode & Startup.



Ensure your power mode is set to Instant-On, and Keep my console, games & apps up to date is checked.

Could you try going into the settings app > power & startup and (if it's enabled) disable 'Resume games quickly (BETA)'. Let me know how you get on and we can work from there.

 

Actually that was the first thing I did back in January but the issue still persists.

 

Try doing a hard reset. Hold down power button on console until power brick light turns orange. Then remove power cord from wall for 5 mins and then start everything back up.

 

Sadly I have done that too. Mainly to reset the Kinect as it decides not to work from time to time. The worst part is it does this at random. I have found that it does it less when I actually quit the application.

 

I would suggest that all cables are fastened correctly on the back of the console especially the Kinect cable.
