    Installing the first update to XBOX One X


    Hi everyone.

    I bought a Xbox One X and I can't install the first system update (required by Microsoft). The message that "service is not working properly..." appears but I really don't know what to do as I am trying to do so for 3 days long.

    I appreciate your help here.

    Is it related to COVID? Do you know any other method to update the system for this first usage of the XBOX One X

    I have the exact same issue. First installed, then when a tried to confirm the update it turn the console off and wouldn't update it after, then after uninstalling I get the same error each time.

    Only happens on my Xbox One X though, and installed and runs on a regular Xbox One.

    Have this exact same issue, if that's what it is. Multiple Xbox One X enhanced games installed (titanfall 2, wof 2, cod WWIII and slime rancher) but can't tell if I have the 4k updates. File sizes are the same as on standard Xbox One and I was never prompted
    to install a big update upon launching any of the games for the first time on the X. Do I have the updates? I don't have a 4k tv but the X is supposed to force install 4k updates regardless if they are available, but from what I can tell it hasn't. It's pretty
    frustrating not knowing if it's working properly, should be a simple way to tell if 4k updates are installed or not. Help?

    The division 2 installation stopped 97.3%

    I am also having the same issue with The Division 2 on xbox one x.

    I've tried clearing local saves and did a soft reset, but no luck.

    I also tried letting the game install from disc first by selecting "update later". But it keeps stopping the installation at ~97% of the 50GB update patch.

    If you have an Xbox One S or One X and installing from disk you could use the machine in Offline mode. This may install
    the disk content first and you will still need the online update but it wont be as time consuming as it is an update rather than install. I would suggest you consider doing this after the COD download finishes :)
