    Installing SoD2 works on laptop...but not on desktop?


    Laptop has Gears 4/5 and SoD2 installed just fine but when I try to install them on my desktop (because why wouldn't you want to play on a desktop RTX 3080 with 4k/120hz instead of a laptop 3070m 1080p/360hz), I click the left "Install to" button on the website (actually can't search the game on MS store OR xbox app on my desktop for some reason), it pops up the xbox app and tells me it's not available. Both PCs are on the same network with no VPN used. I can't think of any reason for this.

    Is this desktop (the one the game cannot be installed to) registered on your Microsoft account devices page? If not, please try to add it:
    https://account.microsoft.com/devices

    If the issue still persists, may I know if your desktop country/region and language matches your Microsoft account's?

    Same issue here as well, new laptop, factory reset numerous times, and also managed to replicate it on what was a previously working desktop install

    Hi Ricardo!

    Thank you for the asnswer. I signed in to Xbox using my browser (both default Chrome and installed Edge). It works for my laptop but not for a desktop.

    I found a work around and that is to play the game on my laptop via a remote desktop connection to my desktop pc which has the full version installed. There is a bit of a lag, but better than no game at all. Microsoft Studios, please fix this!

    I tried everything suggested to download the files on my desktop pc, but nothing worked for me. What I did do was to install MS flight sim onto my laptop, run the update and then copy the content of the folder to my desktop pc via an external drive. It work
    fine and so did the small update that came after the initial install.
