Installing one game on two consoles

Hi everyone

I'm thinking of buying the new Xbox One X (or possibly go for the cheaper option for the Xbox One S) but I recently brought a game and installed it on my original Xbox One. I've heard rumours that you can't have one game installed on more than one console,
but after looking online, it looks like you can but it doesn't go into specifics.

Can anyone help me and give a straight answer?

You CAN play used games on Xbox One. Confirmed!!

the fee confusion comes from "installs". sure there might be a fee if you try to install that same game on another console .. it's no different from right now. you can't play the same game between two people on two separate consoles. they both have to
own the game. so if you attempt to install the same game on two consoles then obviously there would be a fee to do that on a second console. otherwise you're just buying one game and installing to every console you have. that's not how it works now, why
would it change?

the fee comes when that second console tries to "own" that game by installing it. the second console can still simply just play the game from disc.

 

installing games to HDD

I HAVE TWO CONSOLES ONE FOR MYSELF AND ONE FOR MY KIDS. I HAVE PURCHASED THE GAMES AND WANT TO MINIMIZE THE DISC BEING USED SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE THEM. CAN YOU PLAY A GAME ON YOUR CONSOLE AFTER INSTALLING IT WITHOUT NEEDING THE DISC TO BE INSERTED?

We would be more than happy to help you with your question. Yes you can have the account on multiple consoles. So basically when you get the new console you would download the

same profile to the new console. You will then be able to play games that are on your account on the new one.

Digital games aren't console specific check out the
Digital Licensing page on our website. The physical copy of the game gives the owner a license to play anywhere the game is installed, in short the discs
can be installed anywhere as long as the disc is in the console. Let us know if we can further assist with this or any other issue or inquiry!!
