    installing games works fine for my ssd but when i try to install a game on my hdd i get the error 0x800700005 i've clicked fine help and did everything it said and it still didnt work tried reinstalling the app nothing i cant even move a game from ssd to hdd gives the same error

    after looking more into it i found a fix change the name of WpSystem to WpSystem.old its a folder on the hdd i was trying to install on and it worked i didnt even have to restart an install just hit resume install and the game downloaded fully

    yes i have tried to change the default storage device and that didn't work i have 4 drives:

    Main HDD (C:)

    HDD 2 (A:)

    SSD 1 (D:)

    SSD 2 (B:)

    All the games that are installed on the Main HDD which has the OS installed and I'm trying to install the new games on HDD 2 and its not working but other games are on there okay and i did what you suggested and it still did not work, the only drive I have space on is the (A:) drive. My windows version is 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324)

    Ok, still not working...

    But I tried something else to try to identify the problem, I added an extra hard drive to my computer, and I can select this one for game installation in the xbox app.

    Is there anything that prevent the games to be installed on a mechanical hard drive rather than a SSD? I guess there is something different on this SSD and the HDD i'm trying to install games on.

    NB: I can't use this SSD for games, I just use it to do a test.

    when i installed windows onto my computer, i accidentally installed it to my hdd instead of my ssd. so i copied the files over to the ssd, but did not delete them from the hhd and i believe it was causing interference. i disconnected the sata cable from
    my hdd and it seems to have worked. thank you.
