Installing games to SSD

Ive got a small issue. I was gifted Borderlands 3 super delux edition on dis for my birthday. I have two consoles and my main one is the DISC-LESS Xbox One S. So my trouble is. I am unable to play it on my discless console. Even trying to Network transfer
and installing it. Doesnt work. Any suggestions besides buying the digital :-D

Would installing a game from disc to an SSD usb work? I know people can install games such as Sea of Thieves onto an SSD and can plug and play in whatever console.

You have to have the digital version for the All Digital Xbox. You don´t need to buy the deluxe edition of the game. The upgrade stuff for the bigger versions of a game are normally DLCs which are tied to your account. So the normal edition should do it.

So your saying a 3.0 USB would work better for putting a game on it, then id be able to use it in any xbox?

Hi, I have read through your post and fully understand your situation and the Xbox Ambassadors are here to help.

You may need to format the ssd for this to work, however I would recommend external hard drives with 3.0 USB connections rather than ssd for console as you won't gain much from using ssd in load times etc

If you have the disc for the game, you can NOT play it on the disc less model. Even if you you have it installed on a SSD, the console will check to see if you own the license for a digital copy.

As the game is physical it's impossible to play on the all-digital console, however, 3.0 USB storage units are the best source for digital-based games
