Installing games take far to long!

Just bought an Xbox one with the GTA V and Fifa package, the GTA came on disc and took a couple of hours to install,

once installed it works great on and offline, however for fifa 15 I had to put a code in and download it from the Xbox store

after 15 hours it's only at 33%, this is ridiculously slow! When're I use the Internet at home I always have good connection,

does anybody have any ideas how to speed this process up?

there HUGE (1st one was 5GB, this one is 13GB....bigger than the GAME..... my dead rising disapared from by HDD, when i put the disc in it reinstalled.... you could try deleting it off, but as were not allowed to check wants on the tiny 500GB HDD I cant
tell yu if that would delete your save files....microsoft dont seem to tell you that.. :-?

I've downloaded the game into the HD and so on however when I try to start the game it does a normal update but for some reason it stuck at 97%(Ryse) n it hasn't gone up ever since. This has happen to Forza and Dead Rising 3 as well. Is this normal ?

 

If you disconnect from xbox live and install it , it will install faster not sure how much faster but it will help

 

If your downloading a full game it all depends on your internet speed.

 

I complained about this just last week. My Fifa 15 took about 18 hours (cant be certain exactly how long it took as I left it going overnight).

My question is, surely you cant disconnect from Xbox Live if you are downloading the game from the Store?

It's likely it's your connection speeds that are the issue. FIFA 15 is a 12.7GB game.

The minimum recommended download speed for Live is 3Mbps, at which speed FIFA 15 would take about 10 hours to download. And that's assuming you hit peak speeds the whole way through. So if you also have other devices (laptops, phones, tablets, TVs) on the
network (particularly if they're streaming or downloading something sizeable), that will obviously slow down your download speeds and increase the time taken significantly.

These games are much bigger than their 360 counterparts and will take much longer to download.

 

So disc games will load faster if you disconnect from LIVE before installing.

If you're downloading a game then you're best to allow your XBox to do just that. Find something else to do and it will happen faster.

Play another game, chat, browse with your ONE... downloads will go slower.

One plus is that you can suspend a download and then pick it up again if you need to.

 

Just another reason why 3rd paty games are much superior on PS4, even installing them is hell of a lot quicker. I didn't know about disconecting from live first, how much quicker is it exactly for disc?

 

Here's me getting grumpy about AC Unity taking just over 3 hours to download from the store!!!

 

@Troll - disconnecting from live can speed up installs because the game tries to download updates at the same time as installing the game. If you disconnect, then this happens separately. In theory it shouldn't make any difference, but it's been shown to
help sometimes.

@Cookie. Couldn't agree more. In fact patching games seems to take forever too as I don't leave my power hungry xbone in standby 24/7 just so it can keep up to date.

Sounds like me when I try to download a mere update lol. Need to replace that hamster in my router...

 

Problem is, it depends completely on where you live. Being out in the country, it doesn't matter what broadband speed I would like, I can only get what I'm offered and the most I can get right now is 4mbps. Thankfully,
I wont be getting anymore non disc games.
