    Installing a game without the disc?


    There's a game coming out that I want to play straight away on release but obviously I have to install it first so I was wondering if there was anyway of installing it without the disc so that when I get the game I can play it instantly?

    At this time, not unless they still have their profile on your console. If you've had friends over who have used it, you would want to ask them to check that they've set their own consoles as their Home

    It sounds like someone has your console set as their Home console. The Home setting allows everyone who is on that console to access content you download. So if someone else has your console set as their Home, you will automatically download anything they
    purchases. You will lose access to the games if they change their Home console.

    Installing a game without the disc?

    If you get the digital d/l you can if it's on the store early. That would be the only way.

    Digital download is the way to go a lot of games have a digital pre order option that allows you to download the game in advance before release then it unlocks fully to play on release day.

    Hello everyone Installing a game without the disc? :)

    If I already have a disc game installed to the HDD and the digital version of that game goes on sale for super cheap, can I buy the digital version so that I can avoid having the need to put the disc in when I want to play it?

    ^Yes. Same goes for any game EA game you own that goes in the vault. Sell that disc for discless play.

    EA access vault is superb value £4 a month or £20 for a year makes it a no brainer for me superb value !

    playing installed games from discs without disc x360

    hello i have xbox 360 and where i have it i havent got internet... i have installed my games but they wont play without disc and i dont know why but i want to play them without discs...
    For disc based games, the Internet connection doesn't matter.

    However, if you installed the games from disc, the disc is needed as a proof of purchase. Otherwise you could install the game from disc and sell the disc to someone else.

    That other person then installs the game from disc, and sells the disc again to another person.

    And in the end thousands of people can play the game, from only one sold disc, if you were able to play installed games without a disc.

    If you want to be able to play games without a disc and without internet, you will have to buy the games digitally, and download them on the console you wish to use without internet immediately after purchase.

    Or if you downloaded the games to a different console first, you will have to do a "License Transfer", with an internet connection, and re-download your games you wish to use offline.

    After the license transfer, you can use the installed download games without internet.

    But for disc based games, you will always need the disc in the drive.
