Installing a game on a friends console

I recently bought Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition as part of the summer game sale. The purchase was fine and I downloaded and played the game for several days. Now I am staying at a friend's house for a few days, and tried to download the game
but it does not show up in ready to install. I checked in the store and it says I still need to buy the game. I am signed in on my own account and have checked the hidden items on the ready to install list. Anybody have any idea why the game isn't showing
as purchased and is not in my ready to install list? My own Xbox is part of the preview program and on the most recent version of the Xbox One software, while my friend's Xbox is not part of the preview program. Would that affect it?

I have a questions about this. Do I have to click on "My Games" and click on the game to play from HD, or can I still click on the game normally as if I am playing from the disk? Doing it this way will still play from the HD or disk?

 

INSTALLING A GAME?

I installed my disc for Big Buck Hunter a couple days ago. seemed to install fine. then an update needed. the game will not play, directs me to go to the store or cancel. Does not seem to even read the disc now.

I uninstalled big buck hunter and tried to reinstall it, now it doesn't even come up in my queue. Then, tried the same thing with HALO 5. Installed it, then tells me there's an update. originally installed fine, tried the update (which said there was
over 50GB to update? I uninstalled it and now I insert that disc and it will not populate in my queue.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

If you purchased the game from your own Xbox One which is part of the preview with Cortana the licenses you purchase from it won't appear until the version of the console update is released to the public. That would be the reason why you can't download
it on a non-Preview console.

You may want to try to get a refund and get the game again from the website or on your friend's console.

 

Oh that sucks. Do you know if I would I be able to play it if my friend opted-in to the latest version of the xbox preview program?

 

Hey there. That I'm not sure but there's a high chance that it will since you're using the same Preview version.

 

Im having the same issue. If this is the reason, I think it is completely wrong. It makes no sense that it was dine that way. I should be able to purchase it and get a refund. Also xbox support should be made aware of this. I spoke with 2 reps for over an
hour and they just know about the licensing issue. Not that it is caused by and preview issues.

I know it's quite unfair that the licenses are purchased from the preview console are not appearing. This is caused by the new store that's being utilized on the said preview update. But upon release of the said update to the public licensing issues will
be cleared out since everyone will be on the newest console version.

I've already talked to other reps about this and they have confirmed this info.

I don't know about the refund though. It will still be Microsoft/Xbox's call if they'll give out refunds. Might as well check that out with them man.

Just spoke with another suppoer rep that has heard nothing about having to wait for the full update. I still can't believe the rep made me post here to get help. Very dissapointed in microsoft and xbox. My son can't play games he purchased. Way to go xbox.

Preview Forums. As others have mentioned some games may not be accessible on non-preview consoles. Thanks for your understanding.
