Since you do not own the digital version of the game you can not play it unless you replace the disc or buy the game digital. The disc is used to verify ownership of the game.

You can buy the digital version via phone wifi. However if you do not have internet connection after that make sure your Gamertag is set as Home on your xbox so you can still play offline.

This is why it kind of sucks everything is digital now. I cant take a game and give it to my daughter to play. And we live in the same house. I have my kids on my console and its set to the home xbox but all the games are downloaded to my name.

Did the owner of the digital games you now cannot play change their Home Xbox setting on their account? Because you cant play games that people on your family accounts own unless either you are on the home xbox of the account with the game, or the person
who owns the game is logged onto the xbox at the time you play
