Installation Stopping

Hello, my Fallout 4 stops installing at about 26%. The error comes up and tells me the disc might be dirty or damaged. I ejected cleaned the disc (even though it was clean and scratch free) and inserted. I then restarted the download only to get the same
problem. I went searching on forums and attempted many solutions. (i.e. Offline install, Clearing saved games through settings, attempted reinstall many times, and hard reboot). I read somewhere that the disc may be corrupt or something like that however I
did have the game installed around a month ago, so I don't see that being the problem.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and
restart the console.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Tried it, and it currently says ready to start...like before...still at 91.5% and other than giving me the option to pause the installation, it isn't showing it downloading anything. It has been 5minutes so far and still nothing...hasnt shown installation
stopped either...yet.

Yes I have tried that, multiple times. I just don't understand why it would work a month ago and not work now.

i cant even install it on my new XB1S console it stops at around 7% saying the disc is dirty or damaged but i can install it without problems on my old xb1 console

Try a hard reset then, then go to setting and install updates before trying to install the game again?!

As i said above, try hard resetting then go to settings and do a manual update. see if that works dude.

How does one do a manual update before the disc installation?

I had exactly the same problem copying games off of a backup disk. It would just stop copying. The only way to start it again was to restart the box.

Now I've got the games loaded performance is dreadful. Wolfenstein just keeps freezing, it's unplayable.

It could be that an update is causing the installation to stop. Try taking the console offline for the duration of the disc install to see if that helps (delete the current install before you try this)

Did that and also unplugged the power.. it's farther than it's gotten all day so hopefully that's a good sign. Thanks

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that helps solve the issue?
