"Installation stopped" XB1 Download

Hi,

Still having issues with downloading games on my XB1, with the downloads eventually stalling and the "installation stopped" message showing up.

It seems to happen with any game I download (although some are worse than others - some get going again if you repeatedly retry to get the download going, but most don't).

I've tried every troubleshooting step you can think of, including factory resetting console, resetting modem, deleting and starting downloads again, clearing cache/hard resets, with & without external HD, different NAT settings etc. Everything. And all my
other devices seem to be fine.

I have seen some reports on Reddit and also my cousin, having the same problem. And we all seem to be located in Australia (I think).

This needs to be looked in to because it's getting real frustrating

I've definitely tried changing my DNS, but not mid-download. So I'll give it a try.

I'm also discovering that if I keep trying to resume the download a number of times after the installation stops, sometimes it will start downloading again. But not all the time.

But this just proves that this needs to be investigated by Xbox. Thanks for the tip

Not a permanent fix, no. Read the posts above for some tips to try to get the download going again. And yes, I'm talking digital downloads.

But this needs to be investigated by Xbox. I rang them earlier but they don't want to admit there is a problem. I'm getting the run-around. I suggest everyone who is experiencing this to ring up support and complain. Then they'll get the message.

As I said, I have already done all those troubleshooting steps. Nothing is working. And I'm not in the preview program.

One thing I have figured out is that some of the games will download fine (such as Batman Arkham Asylum & Storm Boy for example), but then others like Call of Juarez Bound in Blood, Ashen & Forza Horizon 4 Fortune Island DLC always says "installation stops"
- and these games always seem to stop at the same point (ie. Call of Juarez stops at around 270MB, Ashen stops at 1.09GB & Forza stops at 4.58GB).

So this has to point to an Xbox server problem, and nothing on my end. This needs to be investigated further.
