    Installation stopped while downloading games


    A few weeks ago Rocket League would not let me play, I would press on its icon and it would start to load but eventually kick me out to the home screen. So I tried to uninstall and the reinstall, however it would get between 3-10% then give me the message
    "installation stopped".

    So far I have tried to:

    • Hard and soft reset of the console
    • Clear MAC address
    • Change default storage device
    • Reset keeping games and apps
    • Cancelled download and try to reinstall

    I've also heard to clear local saved games, however I'm hesitant to do so because I have over 300 hours on a few games and don't want that data to be wiped forever. Does anyone know more information about this?

    I'm also thinking maybe because the new Xbox Series X just came out the older consoles may be suffering or the servers are a bit overwhelmed. I did check the server status' and they are normal.

    Why do disk based games take hours to install?

    There is a lot of info. Install them while offline to see if they download faster.

    Click here to see how to download while not online. Also, the game will download updates before it actually starts installing. It just doesn't say that.

    I am also having this issue while trying to install both the Sunset Overdrive update and Child of Light for Games with Gold. They continually start downloading and then suddenly stop and it says Installation stopped. I can restart them, but it only downloads
    for a couple of minutes before stopping again.

    Does it just stay at 0% or does it start the download and then a message pops up saying installation stopped? I have that issue with wolfenstein through Game Pass. No matter what i do the installation just stops immediately. Might be an issue with
    downloading over Live.
    After pressing install at the store or from ready to install the game goes to the queue staying at 0% while saying "minecraft installing" but not getting any progress with installing

    Hi,

    Whenever you try to make an install while connected to the internet the entire download will be affected by your internet download speed.
