"Installation Stopped" when downloading games

This has been going on for a while now and no matter what i do i cant seem to get it working. When i download games they will get to 99 or 100% then it will stop downloading and a notification pops up saying "Installation Stopped". They are downloading to
an external dive which has been replaced a few times with different sizes and brands to see if it could be the hard drive. I have also tried:

1. rebooting network

2. xbox hard reset

3. press start/ redownload

4.delete and redownload

Got 2 new 2TB seagates yesterday and set some stuff to download, woke up this morning and they were all still in my queue stuck at 100% "installation stopped". If you have a solution please let me know, i really need one.

Problem : 0x87E0000F

Yesterday I bought rainbow six from the market and when I start downloading the game it hangs at 2.2% and c writing installation stopped. I canceled and restart the download several times but to no avail please help me

"Installation Stopped"

FunkayFooj, since you have the preview dashboard, you'll want to have your brother report the issue via the preview app on the console, or in the preview forums (forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx).
If you get a message that says Group Not Found, have him create a post here requesting access:

forums.xbox.com/.../4268.aspx

Also, it sounds like your issue is different, because you are installing from a disc. Usually, turning the Xbox off by holding the Xbox logo on the front until it fully shuts down and unplugging the power cord from the back for 5 minutes will help this.
I always choose Update Later when prompted, because it makes the game install faster.

Even if it works after that, you'll still want to have him report it so the preview team is aware of the issue.

Which region (country) do you live in and is your gamertag set for the same one? Some content cannot be downloaded to a region that it was not intended for.

If your physical and gamertag regions match have you tried holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down or checked to see if the console has an update in the queue?

located in the U.S. which, shouldnt be region as my xbox has always been as well, already tried holding power button(Hard reset) and i have no new update available.

Ok then. Please try cancelling the install then restart it to see if that helps the issue.

Alright, try cancelling the download again then but this time set the internal drive as the main drive for the download. If the download is successful then just change things around again and move the game to the external drive.

Did a factory restore for my console and really formated my hard drive. Seemed to work fine until tonight. Same issue.

This is definitely odd behavior. As this seems to continue happening I would recommend sending a message to @xboxsupport on Twitter to see what they have to say about it. Please post back here with the results so we know for future reference.

Might just be a one of, I was able to download a game and when I tried to download another it said installation stopped again.

My game won't download at all. When I put the code in, it got to the queue. After everything in the way of it gor installed, the download stopped. I cleared the system cache multiple times and the download immediately stops every time.

This didn't help install the 9GB of base game, it still stops at 5.9GB, if you need more detail, this is a copy that I had gotten in some time 2019. The base game is having an issue with installation, it stops at 5.9GB, everything else is installing at this point. When I download the game, I tried updating and installing, and updating later, no matter what the game stops installing at 5.9GB, I can also hear the disc stop spinning as soon as it gets to that point. It says "installation stopped" and when I try to keep it installing, it doesn't do anything, it seems to be an issue with either my Xbox or the base game itself. It also seems to be just modern warfare that is having this problem, vanguard and Cold war work fine, it's just the base 9.18GB base game that stops.

Sorry to hear it. Please try cancelling the download the power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. Unplug and let it sit for 5 minutes then power on and retry the download again.

Also, if you are not already you should try connecting via ethernet cable as that offers a better connection than wireless.

Try doing a hard reset again by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug the power brick from the console and the outlet. while it's unplugged press the power button on the front of the console a few times to drain
the remaining power from the console wait a couple minutes then unplug everything back in and power back on then try the game again.
