Installation stopped, Try installing again. Continuing issues.

This has been an ongoing issue with my xbox one since release. I now use a 4 TB external Mybook HDD, but these errors were around even before I started using an external.

Everything seems fine for a while, then out of the blue I check my queue to see atleast a half dozen games and apps with the "Installation stopped" message. Pressing the a button tells me to insert the disc to complete the installation(even for apps or downloaded
games which have no disc). That in turn leaves me to be forced try installing again. Some of these games range as high as 50GBs on large titles.

Even on games where I do have the disc, most of the time when I try inserting the disc. Either nothing happens, or it tries reinstalling the game entirely by download, ignoring the fact that a disc to install from is in the drive.

In short 9 times out of 10 when the Installation stopped error comes up, I'm forced to reinstall the game/app. How have these issues not been fixed this long after launch?

Right now with my ISP, I'm not charged for bandwidth usage. That may not always be the case, and I'm sure there are people out there, that this is a big issue for. Wecant be expected to redownload/reinstall 100s of GBs worth of games/apps every few weeks.
I don't have the time nor patience to babysit my xbox to get everything reinstalled after one of these installation fits.

Can't play my games, help!

I have signed in to xbox live and all my games have come up with installation stopped, I clicked on all of them to try installation again but no joy! It just go from 'installation stopped' to '100%' then to 'queued' then back to 'installation stopped'
I've tried disconnecting from wireless, restart then installing but still same error. Can anyone help so I finally start playing some games?

 

Forza Horizon 3 Wont Install

Hi,

I have Forza Horizon 3 disc, and when I try and install the game onto my Xbox One, the installation is always stopping at 7%. When i try the try installation again option, it will change to installing, however it does not install, and after about 30 seconds,
it will come back with installation stopped. I have tried installing it offline, and still it stops installing after a certain amount.

Any Fixes?

I see you mention that this was an issue prior to having the external HD but it continues still.

-What is the download/upload speed (according to your Xbox One) not according to the plan under the ISP?

-Does the external HD that you're using also have a power cable that plugs into the wall?

-What are the power settings on the external HD?

-Have you tested this by making the internal HD primary to see if this still occurs?

-Are you wired or wirelessly connected to your router/modem?

 

Can't answer all of those questions now as I am not able to access my xbox at this moment.

My external HDD does have its own power cable. Power settings I'll have to check later.

I am wirelessly connected with my xbox. I've never experienced any signal disruption on a noticeable level.

As for the signal strength, again, not at my xbox, but I am able to stream HDX quality movies with no disruption.

Lastly, being that these problems were around before and after I got the external HDD, testing the internal as primary storage would be a moot point.

I should also note the xbox one that I got for my nephews, which uses only their internal storage. Also frequently encounters this same issue. Note, that their xbox is at a different location connected wirelessly as well, but with an ebtirely different
ISP.

I'd make sure the power of the HD isn't going to sleep (I think that's the issue)

You can play with pluging in an Ethernet cable but it's prob the HD power/sleep settings.
