Installation stopped problem

I bought cold war when it first came out and played it just fine up till the end of season 1 when an update came out. I had the game uninstalled by then since I wanted to free up some space for other games, but I ended up wanting to play it again so I freed up some space and decide to re-install it. This is when a message popped up saying that the game requires an update, and I pressed ok on it not thinking much about it, and from then on it has said installation stopped whenever I try to install it. I have tried everything from canceling the download and re-installing it to hard resetting the console and so far nothing has worked. I see the problem which is that it is trying to update and install at the same time, and I have seen on other forums that the easiest way is to just install the disk whilst offline but I bought the game on digital not physical so I really don't know what to do.

delete the game and reinstall it if not check if your memory is full and if not then I invite you to xbox technical support

then whomever you talked to is lying through there teeth they even said they knew about it and even Fantom Drives said Microsoft is aware of it , i think they are trying to avoid it and pass off the blame to say the 3rd party vendors like Fantom Drives
don't want to take responsibility for the massive screw up they did

I am experiencing this same problem with Fantom Drives seagate sshd. I can see the drive under management and was able to play games until games needed updates after last XBOX UPDATE. I restored XBOX ONE and formatted external drive and no good results.
I also just got off phone with microsoft support and he stated this is the first he’s heard of this problem!

This is an issue with Microsofts XBOX Feb 25 update. The drives work fine on their own. I can even do a hack to get the interrupted moves of games to transfer by hooking up a USB 2.0 and clicking try again. When it completes, I have to rehook the drive
back up because it doesn't recognize USB 2.0 drives.
Microsoft REALLY NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE and stop telling us to reformat the drive or reset the console. I tried all those. This happened to me when Omega was updated, I reset and things were fine, until the feb 25 update pushed the same code to the
GA release.
Beta release also DOES NOT FIX.

Hi G1B,

Can you try this on a different console? Sign in on a friend or family and try to install the game. Very weird that this one game wont install. You may need to do a

full factory reset, where you delete everything. Maybe something is residual from the old install.
