Installation Stopped on Elder Srolls Online Xbox one

so i digitally pre-ordered TESO:TU for the xbone and it downloaded just fine, launch day came and it decided that it had to download from scratch again. at first i thought it was no big deal, untill it said "Installation Stopped" at 4% downloaded. after
that i could never get it to go up past 4% no matter what i did, i have:

1. soft reset the xbox
2. disconnected from internet
3. gone offline
4. tried downloading on external hard drive
5. went out and bought a physical disc copy
6. talked to xbox support about options/steps to try and get it to work

none of that has seemed to work for me. and yes i have checked if i can download other games from digital and disc downloads and the only game that seems to be affected is TESO:TU. i just wanted to know if anyone has had something similar happen to them
and if they found a way to get past this.

Xbox 360 (slim - 250gb) won't play XBOX games

I have the same problem, when I try to play compatible original Xbox games such as The Elder Srolls: Morrowind or Halo 2, it tells me to download it again dispite never downloading it for I cant download old games. I have a kinect version Xbox 360 Slim with
an official 320gb Hard Drive I bought online.

No, I'm not new to Elder scroll games; I have all the achieves in Oblivion. I wanted though to be sure what were bugs and what were possible permanent problems with the game. Bugs I can live with, (elder srolls are awsome games.) Oblivion froze on me multiple
times to the point I had to restart my console; however I did not want it to get so bad that it was to a point I have to replace but can't. Despite the bugs in the series I love the elder sroll games.

 

So you currently own a physical copy? Could you delete the current game download off the hard drive (or move to an external hard drive and disconnect from the console)? Then take the console offline, power cycle (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console),
and install from disc. Take it online and try the update again.

unfortunately that did not work, and at this point the only thing i can think of would be to get a brand new Xbox, which imo isn't worth it

yes, always at 4%, well i think sometimes it gets to 5%, but mostly at 4%

 

Does it always say 'Installation Stopped' or does it sometimes simply get stuck on 4%? I'm reading some other forums saying that getting stuck is actually quite normal, because of how the patch is downloaded. It looks like at 4% you're in some virtual queue
and that if you leave it for a while you should jump up significantly, then the download will continue in this fashion. It doesn't seem like the greatest system, but try again and if you can leave the download running for a while see what happens.

If it does say Installation Stopped every time, can you not press the Menu button (three horizontal lines) and select 'Resume Installation' or does that not work?

 

it always says "Installation Stopped" and when i press "Resume Installation" it tries and boots up for about 10 seconds and then stops again with the "Installation Stopped" message popping back up

 

ok, i finally got it to download, had to do a factory reset on the system
