Bought Gears of war ultimate edition Pre-Load version and I can't install it. When I try to install it it says installation stopped. When I click on it it gives me error code
0x80070079. It told me to go check my network connection but i am clearly connected to the internet.

Sorry to hear it. Please try highlighting the download and then press the Start button then select Resume Installation.

If that doesn't work then try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then remove all cables from the console and let it sit for 5 minutes.

I'm running into the same issue. Power cycling doesn't help.

- Try to download again your games after 24 hours. If you still can't download your games, here are the steps that you may try;

1. Delete your profile from your console. -support.xbox.com/.../remove-profile-from-console

2. Hard reset: Turn off your console, unplug from the wall outlet, wait 30 sec before plug it back.

3. Turn on your console and redownload your profile.

4 . Try to download again the game.

the whole cycling, deleting profile thing does not work in this case. even coming offline and downloading is not working. NEXT

Hi,

Please try a power cycle of your console as this should allow your add-on to install.

1) hold the power button for 10 seconds. The console will fully shut down.

2) wait 60 seconds.

3) disconnect the console from the power outlet.

4) wait 60 seconds.

5) plug the console back in and turn it on. It will take a while to load the dashboard.

6) sign in to your XBL account and try the installation again.

I'm afraid not, I have tried pretty much every troubleshooting advice out there and nothing works. Only thing that would work was connecting to my mobile phone connection via hotspot rather than broadband connection. Which is strange as it's the same broadband
connection I have had for 6 months. I have reset the router to factory settings to make sure I hadn't accidentally changed something but still didn't work. I tried google DNS. I also tried setting my xbox IP as a DMZ which still didn't work. But connected
back to mobile phone via hotspot and instantly starts downloading the update again.

I tried disconnecting my external storage, than performing a full factory reset and tried to install (without reconnecting my external storage) Assassins Creed IV Black Flag and it stopped at the exact same point of 313.65 MB.

It is heartening that someone else is having the same issue i am. I've contacted microsoft support again and apparently its been referred to a tech team but I'm not particularly hopeful about hearing back. It also effects dishonored for me but not the metro
games i dont think. I buy basically all of my games on sale so that could be part of the issue but it also happens with certain game pass games
