    Installation stopped error 2020


    I have been in the forums and I’ve tried all possible solutions to correct this problem. Similar to others’ problems, my xbox one:

    • Does not download any games on the external hard drive

    • Internal works fine and external downloads apps and updates.

    • Tried formatting hard drive and clearing mac address

    • Cleared local storage and i have storage on internal

    • Does not let me move games from internal storage to external hard drive either

    • Would have tried formatting multiple external drives but in forums I’ve seen many variations still have the same installation error outcome

    Hi,

    Please try a power cycle of your console as this should allow your add-on to install.

    1) hold the power button for 10 seconds. The console will fully shut down.

    2) wait 60 seconds.

    3) disconnect the console from the power outlet.

    4) wait 60 seconds.

    5) plug the console back in and turn it on. It will take a while to load the dashboard.

    6) sign in to your XBL account and try the installation again.

    I'm afraid not, I have tried pretty much every troubleshooting advice out there and nothing works. Only thing that would work was connecting to my mobile phone connection via hotspot rather than broadband connection. Which is strange as it's the same broadband
    connection I have had for 6 months. I have reset the router to factory settings to make sure I hadn't accidentally changed something but still didn't work. I tried google DNS. I also tried setting my xbox IP as a DMZ which still didn't work. But connected
    back to mobile phone via hotspot and instantly starts downloading the update again.

    I tried disconnecting my external storage, than performing a full factory reset and tried to install (without reconnecting my external storage) Assassins Creed IV Black Flag and it stopped at the exact same point of 313.65 MB.
