Installation Stopped and file corruption

Hi there,

I’ve spent the past 3 hours trying to fix this but basically I recently bought modern warfare 2 and it keeps saying installation stopped when I try to install however before this I had it pre installed from the beta or something and i clicked on it just to see if the person I was game sharing with had bought it or something and it said needs and update and also said do you own this game? And so I bought it afterwards and tried to download it at the same time the update was happening so that was my first problem.

Anyway so I tried pretty much everything cleared local save data did a soft reset etc. Also when I try to delete the game which it thinks I have downloaded it disappears and then when I reset my Xbox it appears in my library but I don’t think I’ve actually got it installed it’s really confusing. Hope someone could please help thank you very very much

In this case the best option is report this problem to both Xbox and Activision team and wait for an update:

I’ve tried all the things Josef suggested and more including factory resetting the Xbox and resetting the router and modem but I still have the same problem as you. Installation stops immediately and it says the game is corrupted.

If I understood correctly you don't own the game and someone else is game sharing the game with you?
Or is the opposite?

If it's the opposite may I know if you tried the next all together?

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, enable "Home Xbox" in your account and try again

If maybe the issue persist, can you try to install a completely different game to see if the issue persist?
