    We pre-ordered a game and the payment has been verified. We see a box that says "INSTALL You own this" and we cannot do anything. Is this because it is not available until the release date of September 25? I ask this because we are unable to reinstall
    an app and get a similar message in the box that says "INSTALL you can play this" and again we can't open the app. This seems to happen with all free games in the item shop if we try to download/install. Any suggestions?

    Sorry to hear you are having problems.

    Most pre-order games can be installed before their release date, but you can not play them until the release date , but their could well be a update from the game developers that will cause a 2nd update before release day.

    Have you tried a hard reset of your console ? Shut down your console and switch off the power at the wall and then restart as normal to see if this fixes the problem.
    Thank you for your reply but this did not resolve the issue. I have read about resetting the Games and Apps app but am unable to find the screen described in those instructions. Hard reset of the console did not work nor did waiting to the 9/25 release date.

    That game is not available in the Microsoft Store for PC. It will only install on a console as noted in the game description.

    Check the redemption at http://account.microsoft.com to verify which version of Minecraft you were gifted. It sounds as though you were gifted the console version of the game, not the PC version. If that is the case, it will not work on a PC.
