Install Games from Retail disc to Xbox One COnsole

Hi,

I have bought the Skylanders Trap Team, Forza 5, etc. and using it for last 1 year. At times, the disc is not readable and I had to clean the disc and restart the console.

Is there a way to download the Games software and install it in the Console permanently so that I do not have to insert the disc when switching the game from one to another?

Installing to HDD kinda looks like...

A Game Install should never effect the Graphics one way or another. The only thing it does is help Load Times (which will vary Game to Game) and keep the Console cooler and quieter.

The only Game that was recommended not to Install was Halo 3 Retail (not the MP/ Halo 3 ODST Disc), as Bungie wrote the Code to perform at it's best from the Disc for Halo 3 Retail only.

On a side note, the only Game that has no Install Support is DOA X2. It can only be played via Disc.

Installing xbox one retail disc to xbox hard drive, and then downloading the purchase off xbox live

I recently bought an xbox one, and i'm wondering if i'm able to install a retail disc to the system, and then download the purchase off xbox live? I do not have fast internet, and i'm not willing to wait for 30gb of data to complete. I'm wondering if a
retail disc will work to install that 30gb of data,instead of downloading it from xbox live?

You would need to buy an electric version of the game from the marketplace on the console or via a code to remove the need to have the game in the disc drive.

Yes it is possible however it would mean purchasing a digital version of the game from xbox live marketplace.

However when searching Skylanders trap team is currently not available due to the portal of power I suspect.

If your console is having issues recognising disc may I suggest contacting support to have it repaired. You can also set this up your self by visiting myservice.xbox.com

Hello just to clarify... When you install a game from a retail disc or digital they use the same file. So for example a friend take his game (disc) and install on your console, then you purchase the game from the xbox store and you dont need to download
the game again.

All Xbox One games must be
installed to the hard drive to be played, either from a digital download (games on demand) or from the Blu-ray disc they ship on.

Games that are downloaded from the Marketplace can be played without any disc in the console, same as today. Games that are installed from Blu-ray require the Blu-ray disc in the drive to be played, same as today. Games that are installed from disc are not
downloadable from the Marketplace in lieu of the disc, if that's what you're wondering. That went away when they removed the offline timer.

The major difference between the 360 and Xbox One is that disc-based games must be installed. There's no running from disc any longer.
