Install/download times

Hello, as some of you may know from previous posts i have just gone from ps4 to X1, but im struggling to understand how the install/download times take SO long, i have fibre optic broadband but the downloads seem to take so much longer on X1 than they did
on ps4, as for the install times im not even mentioning them....does anyone know why this is happening? My dad is the one i feel sorry for he thought he would follow suit and get a xbox one and went to download the forza 5 digital copy you get with the bundle.....6
hours later he could play it.........

download/install times

Usually the download is faster on Xbox, install from disk is faster on Ps...at least for me.

6 hours to download Forza 5 does seem excessive. I did a speed test the other day and I'm still on a laughable 30mbs and it took me just over 80 mins to download BF4 from EA Access. I uninstalled it in less time than it took to download lol! 6 hours man....I'd
find a new hobby!

Install he games offline, then go online to DL any patches, otherwise the patch and the Install slow each other down in some cases. Not had the problem myself but I know others have.

wow! 6 hours later!? lucky u. it would have taken 2 days for me. just like every other game I try to download. it's ridiculous

Hello, as I'm sure you are aware if you're using internet for other things, like youtube, streaming movies, etc it can slow down your downloads.

As for games taking longer to download on the Xbox One, keep in mind that games that are larger in size will take longer (I'm not sure what size games you were downloading on PS4 but just keep that in mind)

Take a look at the
Troubleshoot slow game or app downloads on Xbox One page it has a table which shows estimated download times, there are also some trouble shooting steps to try for slow game or app downloads.

Have ran the system with it on power save and fast start for a while. Only difference is that it takes longer to turn on, has no affect on load times or download times

Stop blaming your customers and accept the

Until its FIXED you need to stop telling your customers its their problem. If some ISP has an issue with throttling you guys, thats not my problem that i happen to be with that ISP, that an issue between you and the ISP.

d3monkid12, if youre on wifi they will always blame the issue on that, plus wifi does suck unless its AC and your directly in front of it (i think only the X has AC capability)

Wires are cheap, wire it up (making sure to keep it away from ac power cables as much as possible) and open the specific ports to be sure its not a UPnP issue

I would reset my router and let my games downloading as well turn off others device using wifi

use google and youtube and learn how to setup your router...

setting a static IP on the xbox just means youre deciding the IP instead of the router assigning the IP to the xbox

When you wire it, disconnect from the wifi so it doesnt try to use it... and wired does make a difference... i get 1/4 of my provided speed when through wifi and massive lag spikes

If you cant figure out your router and were comfortable with something like teamviewer, I could probably just do it for you up to plugging in the xbox and setting up the static ip on it

Edit: even after all that stuff i still have issues with downloads but strict nat/closed ports and wifi arent going to help the situation...

But my nat type is open and I'm not sure about my ports anymore since I pushed the reset button on my router

What is teamviewer? At this point I'm down for almost anything to get this fixed b4 the release of bfv

just sayin (not my thread so dont mean to intrude too much) but I have disabled my WiFi entirely and unplugged all ethernet cords except the xbox one x's. still the same issue

no worries bro say as much as you need on this thread, whatever it takes to get this issue fixed cuz it sure doesn't seem like Microsoft cares to help its customers

I download my games very fast and I dowbkoad the games with the 4k option when they have it on my xbox one x so maybe your connection is in play I have 500mbps downloads on my house router...

wow! I can't even imagine how great gaming would be like that

my speed are nowhere near that fast however I am within minimum required speeds to not be experiencing the issues I'm dealing with and I'm on an xbox one s
