Insight on power supply issue?

The Chat feature on the support page isn't accepting any data in the fields so I can't advance to the next step, and my tweet has so far been unanswered. Maybe someone here has some insight? It would be greatly appreciated!

We've had an Xbox since November 2014. We had a lightning storm which fried our TV and the original power supply. We replaced both and the Xbox worked for a while. Then it didn't. Checked the console with the neighbor's power supply and it worked, so we
replaced the power supply again. Since then, we have completed that cycle three more times. Naturally, my kids are wondering if they should stop spending their allowance money on power supply units and instead save up for a new Xbox. Or Playstation.

Is it possible that we're just that unlucky with power supplies or is something wrong with the console itself?

Concerns about power supply and possibility of dead console

So I sent in my power supply unit today so I could get a new one from Microsoft. However, after doing some research, my particular issue is more related to defective consoles than power supplies. The other day my console just stopped working. I tried the
troubleshooting steps for the power supply to no avail. I would plug in the power supply to the console and the orange light on the PSU would light up for half a second then go out. Do any support agents have any insight into this particular issue? Is there
a chance it's just the power supply and not the console? Or should I just go ahead and send my console in, too? Thanks for any help.

Since there was an electrical discharge involved and based on the frequency with which you are changing the power supplies I suggest you to send that console for repairs. You can register your console and file for repairs here:

No. Don't even attempt using the Xbox 360 PSU on your Xbox One. The use of any accessory other than the standard Xbox One PSU may damage your console and void your console warranty.

You can contact Xbox Support to ask for a replacement PSU or you can process one by yourself through this website:

PSUs of both consoles are unique and are designed to be used only with the type of console they came with. Don't try to use a 360 PSU with a Xbox One console or you will damage it.

Just wait until you got the proper PSU for Xbox One. It's better to exercise a little patience now than to put your console out of commission.

If you've already tried everything on this guide here as well as unplugged the power supply and left it off for about 15 minutes, and tried
to use another power outlet then that would mean it's time to get your power supply replaced. You can do so by either
contacting phone support directly, or by visiting the
Microsoft Repair site here (you'd select Start Request > Order Items Now > Select Power Supply from the drop down).
