Insider Program Console Update Failed???

Yes, I was on playing last night and was brought to the black screen saying that I need a console update to continue playing. That happened 3 times and all 3 had an error message. It never updated and it allowed me to go back to playing. I am in the preview
program as well. So I'm almost pretty sure that it was supposed to be the new update because I have seen where some people have already gotten it because of there personalized gamer pics. So I was wondering if it was the update and if it was can we please
get it fixed so that I can get the update.

Way too many updates

If you are getting updates every few days, then your console is probably in the Xbox insider program. To stop the updates from happening every few days, then you need to launch the Xbox insider hub, and remove the console from the insider program.

If your console is not in the insider program, then your console has probably just updated to the July update, you won't get another one until the next public update is released.

Why so many updates?

Hi, that looks like your Xbox is enrolled into the Insider update program. If you want to reduce the amount of updates you receive you can change to a lower update ring in the Insider app or remove your Xbox totally from the Insider program.

Hi there, if this update is for being in the preview/insider program this could be why it is failing as it could be a bug with the recent update, If the update is not for the preview/insider program then I suggest you contact support.xbox.com to see if

Hello Noel,

Want to apologize for the issue you are having. Is it possible the console is enrolled in the Insider program? You stated you have multiple consoles. Did the update fail on all of them or just one?

Its possible that the xbox console is part of the Insider Program. I know sometimes the Insider Program can cause updates to fail.

Maybe try factory reseting the console. Or removing the console from the insider program.

It could also be something internally if nothing is working to fix the issue.

Honestly if youre going to buy a used console I’d suggest buying from an actual retailor, not ebay.

I got my Xbox One X from gamestop for a decent price and if anything turns out to be wrong with it they will take it back and replace it.
