    Inserting or ejecting a disc makes a grinding noise


    My Xbox one makes a grinding sound when I try to insert a disc and doesn’t take the disc at all, and trying to eject a disc also makes a grinding sound but the disc doesn’t eject unless I eject it manually, this is a problem I’ve had for a while and now I’m trying to find out if anyone knows if there’s a way I could fix this.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    It's not normal, it may mean that your disc drive needs to be repaired. You can try to change the position of your Xbox vertically or horizontally as well.

    If that didn't work you may need to get the console repaired. To check the warranty and start order simply sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/devices.

    i had the same thing happen. everything was working fine playing deadrising. inserted forza, got a grinding noise and didn't recognize disc. ejected and reinserted. everything was fine. problem seems to be random.

    Is it only doing it when you insert the disc or the whole time? How loud is it?

    If it’s worrisome or bothersome take it back and exchange it. It should be making any noise and especially a grinding noise.

    It's not recommended to move your console while the disc is in it. Oddly enough, I predict a "Ghosts jammed my Xbox, it's making crunching/grinding noises and won't eject" thread.

    i just got my 3rd xbox 360 couple weeks ago it makes a grinding noise when loading disc,yes ive installed it to hard drive then after every 10min it makes a rattling sound,also when ejecting it grinds my gears.it makes slight beeps when inserting discs is
    this normal my other xbox did not do that and im not talking about the power beep its different only notice if you lidten closely let me know if you have had this problem
