Input lag on analog sticks in many games

I am experiencing a quite input delay with almost any game on my Xbox One:

It's about 0.25 seconds - hence high enough to be annoying

It mostly applies to the analog sticks only.

It happens in games only. The Xbox menu works responsively.

I have tried different controllers, different HDMI cables, different HDMI inputs and compared different consoles (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360) at the same TV. So it's definetly not TV-related and not controller-related. I even reset my Xbox to see if it helps. I
am almost at the point to believe that it's not a bug, but a design flaw in the Xbox One. I am quite surprised that this issue has not caused a larger outcry since shooters and 3rd person RPGs with hard reaction time requirements are quite unplayable.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Input Lag on HDTV (XBOX 360)

What you have is called Input lag. This is the delay between the video game controller and what happens on-screen. In some cases, input lag can be minimized or eliminated if you are using an analog connection like VGA or component instead of DVI/hdmi.

Money and why you cant aim

Aim assist is only on this and many other games because the analog sticks on a controller are extremely inaccurate.

I'll take it off when I get a mouse...or analog sticks without so much play in them.

My suggestion is try first completely power down your system by holding the front the power button for at least 10 seconds, then unplug it and leave it unplugged for 10 mins, then once it's back on, I would also try to plug in your controller with a cable
and see if there's a firmware update for it, here's how:

If you are using an analog video input you will need a full digital to analog video converter, as the HDMI video output of the Xbox One is not compatible with analog video by itself.

There are many great tutorials on YouTube on this subject, I would definitely recommend My Life in Gaming’s video in particular, they are extremely thorough and well-researched.

Hi there!

As an Elite controller owner myself you did exactly what I would've done by going into the Accessories app and testing the sensitivity curve through the configuration. That data is good because generally the two indicators that show the actual distance the
analog stick is registering compared to what is actually being moved physically, tells you the difference in input when customizing the sensitivity curve.

Through your testing, the issue more than likely lies in the circuitry of the controller causing this added input with your right analog stick. In your example I'm guessing you play PUBG and this is where it is occurring but do you notice this same effect
in any other shooters you play?

If it happens no matter what game you play, then it's an issue with the internal components of the right analog stick and would need to be set up with an exchange if the controller is still in warranty.
