Initial X Box One setup hangs up

Did your Xbox connect to Xbox Live on the first try during the initial set up? I'd recommend restarting your network for at least 5 minutes by unplugging the router. On the Xbox when the screen hangs up, go
ahead and do a hard reset and power cycle to the console. Hold down
the power button on the console for about 10 seconds or until it shuts down. Once the Xbox is off, remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before turning on the Xbox. Holding down the
power button on the console to force a hard reset and then removing the power cable are both important steps. If the console is plugged into an external surge protector, please plug the console directly into the wall outlet.

If this is on an initial setup of a new box, I had the same problem when installing a second new XBox One S upstairs at my home. Here is how I overcame it.

1.) Hook the box up to a wired Ethernet connection with internet access

2.) Complete the initial setup and updates.

3.) Take the box back to the place you want it setup (for me this was upstairs)

4.) Go into settings and setup the wifi....for me, it did not reboot when entering the wifi password in this manner and everything works just fine via wifi since then.

You can leave the Kinect in the box. It is not required to be connected during the initial setup or otherwise. Just click "skip" when the Kinect setup screen pops up.

I have never owned an x-box but have a Microsoft account. I just bought an xbox 360 and it is giving me the same message during initial setup.

Any help for that?

Sorry for your frustrations. As you have discovered the initial initial installation and setup can be time consuming. A fast internet and patience can be your friend during the process. Hang in there it does get easier.
