Initial Setup Issues

Hello Xbox friends,

Just took my brand new Xbox One out of the box about an hour ago. I haven't been able to get past the initial update yet. In the setup process, I have selected my language and country and connected to my wireless internet (finally), but I am stuck on the
fourth step. It says "The size of the update is around: calculating…" It has been on this screen for about 10 minutes, I have turned the console off and started the process over three different times. Each time, it has remained on this same screen for an
extended period of time.

My internet source is a little finicky, and it generally requires a password. Is that why the update isn't working? Where would I input the password?

Hi, my xbox often keeps running the first time set up, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week.

can anyone give me some pointers as to why?

That is because you are using Time Warner (Spectrum) internet service. That is a known issue with that service and has been going on for over a year. The best solution is to run the console wired instead of wireless if possible. You should contact them
to see if they will provide you with a different make/model gateway. They should be well aware of the issue.

You should be putting the password in when you set up your network. If you're connecting wirelessly then it should have you choose your network name and then if you have a password on it then it should prompt you for it.

If you have a lot of trouble with it though, if it's possible, try setting up a wired connection and see if that helps.

 

I am getting a system error, can anyone provide assistance?

 

I just opened up my new XBox One and can't get past step 2. Once I setup everything I powered up and I am getting a system error, please advise?
