Infinite Sign-In Loop occurs when launching game from Xbox App on PC

Whenever I launch a game from the Xbox App on PC, the game launches correctly, but is unable to use the authentication provided by the app. I am asked to sign-in again from the game. A pop up window is shown and it indicates that I have signed in successfully and I am shown the "Let's go!" button. Upon clicking this button I am brought back to the game which considers me still not signed in and asks me to sign-in again, which prompts the popup window. This will occur without end.

Signing out and back into the Xbox App does not fix this issue. Restarting the PC seems to fix it for one or two game launches, but eventually the error comes back and I have to reboot the computer again if I want to play a different game--which is obviously very frustrating.

Does this error occur with all games or only certain ones, and are you signed in to the correct account/profile? Do you receive this ‘Welcome back’ prompt every time and you can’t continue regardless of what profile and game?

Simply signing in to the Xbox Console Companion app seems to have resolved the error for others as reported in this thread:

Navigate to Apps > Applications and features
From the list of apps, select the Microsoft Store application and then select Advanced Options

Check the Microsoft Store app and see if the issue is resolved

Open the Settings app by pressing Windows Key + I together
Navigate to Update & Security > Troubleshooting
Select Windows Store Applications
Select Run Troubleshooter
The Troubleshooter should launch itself and check for problems
Follow any recommendations to fix a detected problem, otherwise continue
Restart your computer
Check the Microsoft Store app and see if the issue is resolved

Open Windows Powershell as an administrator by pressing Windows Key + X, then pressing A after the Context Menu appears
To reinstall the Store, enter the following (you may copy and paste this):
Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register '$ ($ _. InstallLocation) \\ AppXManifest.xml'}
1. Restart your computer
2. Check the Microsoft Store app and see if the issue is resolved

Doesn't work for me, anything else to try? Gamepass works on my xbox just fine. It worked for like 2 games when I first got my PC a couple months ago but not anymore. I can download the games and launch, but then it asks to sign in, then keeps asking me to sign in when I click "Let's go" or switch account

These steps can help you, give it a try.

Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.

1. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset. Do this with the game too.

2. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

3. Open the Microsoft Store app, library>get updates and update everything.

4. Press the Windows Button then type Services.

Right-click over the Services App from the list of results.

Then select Run as Administrator

Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:

IP Helper

Xbox Live Auth Manager,

Xbox Live Game Save,

Xbox Live Networking Service,

Gaming Services.

Do this with each of the services listed above.

Right-click over the service and select Properties.

Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic.

If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services.

Click Apply and OK to save changes.

5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

Right-click on the Windows button and select PowerShell (administrator)

Then, run the following command: (you may want to copy and paste the entire command)

This command can take a while to end, but when the process ends, you should be able to type in the PowerShell window.

After that, please restart your computer and try again.
