    Inexplicably spotty Live connection


    I have a really spotty Live connection and I can’t figure out why.

    - Frequently when I turn on my One it will auto sign me in but won’t automatically connect to Live. When I go to Settings > Network and run a connection test it always comes back positive with an open NAT, and when I back out to the dashboard Live will be
    connected.

    - Even after Live connects I frequently cannot access my friends list or my messages, they both just say they cannot be displayed at the current time. Sometimes taking my One offline via Settings and then back online fixes it, sometimes it does not.

    - Other times I will be randomly signed out of my user account. When I sign back in the sign-in fails about 50% of the time, but the second or third try usually works.

    - I had these exact same problems with my first XBOX One console that I sold, and these issues are the primary reason I sold it. Lately I missed playing games with my buddies on Live and purchased a new XBOX One and it is having the same issues.

    - I have been playing Destiny this week and frequently get error code “vulture” which states:

    “If you are not currently signed into your PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account, please do so now. If you are currently signed in, please check your PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live Gold subscription status. A PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold account is
    required to play Destiny. You can acquire a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace, respectively, or from participating retailers.”

    I realize this may be a Bungie issue and I am going to make a similar post on their support forums, but I mentioned it here because the error seems to be related to the status of my Live account or whether I am signed into it or not. My Live Gold account
    does not expire until 9/25/14.

    - I have never had a single issue with my 360 using this exact same setup. Live always connects immediately and I have never been dropped or signed out in a year at this residence with the same networking setup.

    - I played Destiny on PS4 for a week prior to switching to my One and had no PSN or Destiny connection issues. I know that the One and PS4 user different servers, but between the 360 and PS4 having no issues I think I can rule out problems with my Comcast
    connection.

    Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

    Current networking setup:

    - Comcast 50mb connection

    - Private residence, not an apartment complex

    - XBOX One and 360 are connected via ethernet to our Comcast gateway

    - XBOX One has a static IP reservation on our gateway, is set as the DMZ, and is using Google’s DNS servers

    What Country/State/Province do you live in?: Seattle, Washington, USA

    Gateway brand & model number: Technicolor TC8305C Gateway (Comcast)

    How many 360 and One consoles are connected to this router?: 360, One

    Wired or wireless (for each console): Both wired

    Things you have tried: Static IP reservation for the One, using Google DNS, set One as the DMZ

    Is UPnP Enabled?: Yes

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: Open NAT (cone)

    Any Error Codes you encounter: None

    Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): Comcast, 50mb cable connection

    Have you tried testing your internet connection? Check the connection to xbox live using the account and also check your Internet connectivity to your gateway. Connections that are spotty may drop.

    Hey Selenne. What is your connection speed? And for clarity, are you just having a spotty connection and getting dropped, or are you unable to connect to Xbox Live at all?

    My issues are pretty much identical to yours with the exception of the Destiny issue. I haven't been able to download it yet to even try and play. I'm tempted to go to store and buy disc but with all the issues i'm having it would be a waste. Here's to hoping
    something will get fixed soon. If you find a solution outside of this forum can you please report i back here?

    Yeah I'm using the disc version of the game, but the one thing I haven't had any issues with is downloads. The first-run system update, controller update, Destiny update, and Destiny Vanguard Armory DLC all downloaded fine.

    I'll definitely post in here if I solve my problems.

  6. If you enable UPnP you can´t use DMZ also.

    So enable UPnP and disable DMZ an then RESTART your Router.

    If you then start your xbox it should work with open NAT.

    Be sure you run the latest Firmware for your Router.

  7. I have been having the same identical issue on my Xbox One. I was on the phone with Microsoft support last night for two hours and after lengthy troubleshooting we finally decided that the only possible fix was factory reset. I factory reset my console twice
    and it seemed to FINALLY resolve the issues. It did in fact solve the issues for a couple of hours. I was able to play Destiny crash and error code free, access my friends list and activity feed, etc.. Now when I went back to my console this morning it was
    back to square one with all of the problems... It is really frustrating and I am wondering if the latest software update is causing the problems with the console?

    is your xbox in sleep Modus? if yes it´s possible that this is the Problem. Change it !

    I fixed my issue: the problem was my Comcast wireless gateway. This one to be exact:

    customer.comcast.com/.../wireless-gateway-1


    I had a Motorola Surfboard SB6141 that I'd been meaning to swap out so I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Comcast and got the Motorola activated. Once it was up and running I connected an old Airport Extreme to it with zero customization and everything
    just works. Live, Destiny, everything. I've been playing for two days with no issues.

    It's possible that the reset signal Comcast send down the line made the difference, but I've read a few things on other forums about the Comcast gateways having packet loss issues.

  10. My brothers Gamertag is and mine is inferno nova. I Already have the New dashboard preview but he don't. I Don't know how to invite him to it, so can you? is expieriencing the same party chat and losing game sound problems
    as everybody else. I Know they will be fixed but this would better help him with the xbox one's stability problems.
