Independence Day (United States)

So, for my fellow Americans, what are your plans for July 4th to celebrate our independence as a free nation? Will you be sitting at home all day playing on your Xbox consoles (if so, which game would you play to honor the holiday)?

I for 1 will be celebrating pretty much the entire weekend. In a few hours I'm going into town to watch a fireworks show and meetup with some pretty ladies, along with my brother. Tomorrow, I'll be going to a friend's cook-out on Friday I'll be going to
the springs to get some swimming in and see more fireworks, Saturday I'll be tabletop roleplaying Dungeons and Dragons and playing Magic the Gathering with friends, and on Sunday I stay home and recuperate from the week's events (while playing games).

As for which game I would play, I would play Assassin's Creed 3 because it has the whole American shtick going for it.

For my un-American friends, what do you think of America's Independence Day and how we celebrate it with fireworks and good-ol' American food?

INDEPENDENCE DAY update

^Does it ever get damaged? Drove around with it, crushing cars and flying of hills and didn't see much cosmetic damage done to it!

R* finally put apartments up in Blaine County. Can I get a hallelujah?

 

They need a video game based on the coney island hot dog eating contest held every year 4th of July....

 

You know something, even though I'm English and live in England, they are celebrating America's independence day tomorrow at the school My youngest kids go to....... Does this seem odd to anyone else?........ Or is it just me lol.

I took the day off. My work didn't mind because I'm American. I don't have anyone to celebrate during the day with, but I have friends coming over at 5:30 for a BBQ and beers.

 

@Goat whats odd is the fact that its July and your kids are in school.

Ill be tweeting and eating. Might make time for Outlast or finish Watch Dogs campaign.

 

They break up around the middle of the month 24h.

I bet your kids school didn't celebrate St Georges day though eh? But anyway, that's a whole other kettle of fish lol.

 

Having come from the only country to ever successfully invade America and burn the White House down to the ground (that's why the present White House exists today) I say enjoy your independence.

You deserve it.

 

We had our fireworks and Canadian food on Tuesday (July 1st)....

I must say that I do envy the Americans a bit. Many companies are shut down for the week! My dealership was open July 1st (Canada Day).... which irritated me.

 

My company is closed tomorrow, well... My department is closed anyways, tonight is the citys fireworks display over the river in downtown, and they have a symphony in front of the state capitol playing with the display, and then cannons fire throwing out
huge plumes of smoke, I look forward to it every year.

And then on the day I celebrate my day of independence by cleaning out the freedom gutters, cleaning dog freedom poop, and mowing the freedom grass....

 

@Ooh I'm Good. No you are right mate, they didn't celebrate St George's day mate. It's all wrong. Anyway I'm leaving the thread alone before GG start's moaning that the British have invaded it

 

@Kingvas I cant think of too many American companies that shut down for the entire week. You get the fourth, and if you are really luck you get the third too.

 

Goat: I don't find it "odd" at all as England and America are brothers who were/are separated only by the Atlantic Ocean... And on occasion in past/present generations by Political missteps.

Yet when all is said and done...

We still loves ya over here!
