  1. incredibly slow disk installs

Hi guys, so after the network hacking issues yesterday, i spent today finally setting up my new xbox one.

the first game i have tried to install is forza horizon 2. it has currently been installing for about 5 hours and is now on 93%. however my main concern is that it has been on 93% for about 2 hours now, after spending an hour on 92%...

has anybody else experienced this problem of game installs slowing down massively as they near completion?

    :)

    Plz help

so I cancelled an update for Fallout 4 and it apparently uninstalled the game because it started reinstalling the game from the disk. The download got up to 25% but was either going incredibly slow or stopped completely. Have I lost all of my progress?

  3. Bethesda Is Working On Texture Issue (Proof)

I will just play it from the disk and install it after a second patch comes on. Because I don't really want to wait the extra few minutes to install it. My connection is slow, and games take forever to install.

It could be that it installs off the disc first, then does the update. Some of the updates are very large so it can take a while!

  5. yeah thats what i thought, horizon 2 is a massive game... i just got a bit concerned after it seemed to be going fine and then suddenly only covered 2% in 3 hours.

ive seen other suggestions to uninstall and restart but ive got 93% now so dont really want to have to wait for all that again!

I would wait. this is the problem with buying games a while after they've been released. There is always going to be a huge update which can take ages. Then again look at the master chief collection. It was a 35gb install then another 25gb patch I think
it was. For me in Australia with crappy Internet, trust me when I say, I had to be very patient!!!

i'm about 50/50 for digital games and disc games, but i haven't noticed any issues with installing from discs, last one i installed was Shadow of Mordor and i don't recall it taking more than 20-30 minutes.

if it is stuck downloading updates, you can disconnect it from the internet and maybe that'll get it going.

    welcome to next-gen!

    thanks for the replies guys

ok so just checked again and its still on 93%, so i might try disconnecting from online and seeing what happens. although will that mean that when i reconnect ill have to re-download the entire update again?

  9. The update is downloading invisibly on the side. That's why it's stuck. Still, 5 hours seems like a bit much.

When installing discs now it always asks me do I want to update now or later. I always say later to let the disc install then do the update separately.

  12. just tried going offline to see what happened. the install instantly stopped and i got a message saying there were issues with my network, so basically that i needed to be connected to install...

im now back online and its back at 93% again... ive been trying to remain positive but my faith in this situation is now dwindling if im honest

very well could be something wrong with the console, keep an eye on it, installing from disc should not take that long.

If you do re install, do them separately. Let the disc install and then when it's finished, start the game and it will say you need an update. Do it then.
