Incredibly Old Inactive Accounts

Hello, Ive been an active user of Xbox live since 2008 (Over afew accounts) and there's been accounts that have 0G, and no sign of activity that have had gamertags that Ive desired since then. Is there any protocol for being able to get the gamertags that
are parked on such accounts? Or is it just the horrid response of ''what if that person comes back'' that will be given, when we all clearly know that the decade old never used accounts wont ever be coming back. Thanks

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

 

Next-Gen Xbox to Make Old Gamertags Available?

What if you could get that old gamertag that's been inactive for years or never used? What if Microsoft allowed us to use the old gamertags or names that have never been used on Xbox with the next-generation Xbox? Some names haven't been used because they are used on other Microsoft LIVE services such as Zune.

I think it would be awesome if they had a specific time frame that inactive accounts would become available again after going silver. Say 6 months after its been silver/inactive, make it available to the public again. And you could keep track of how many times its been transferred owners like they have the numbers now for how many years you've been on Xbox LIVE.

 

Starting last year, the policy is if a person does not sign into the account in 5 years, it will be released. Keep in mind that the tag system is in use on other Microsoft services. So even if it is not being used on an Xbox it could be in use elsewhere.
