    Incorrect work of XBOX ONE S Controller on PC with Bluetooth


    Using XBOX ONE S Controller with last firmware on Windows 10 PC, connected through bluetooth.

    Playing NEED FOR SPEED(2016) and problem is X button(handbrake) works also like Game Menu button, so i can't use handbrake. And game shows keyboard\mouse button icons like i play with keyboard/mouse, not controller.

    In GTA V when i list something with D-pad Up and Down it fires twice almost always.

    I disconnected bluetooth and tried to use controller with USB cable, and everything works fine after that, X works like handbrake and not duplicate Game Menu button, button icons shows the controller buttons like it should be and etc. So looks like these
    anomalies happens with bluetooth.

    So, maybe there is something that i can fix in settings of bluetooth adapter or controller? Or maybe it requires some fixes in next firmwares/drivers for controller to make it work stable with bluetooth?

    Yes, absolutely.

    In case there's confusion, the Bluetooth part in the controller is only for connecting it to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is not used on the Xbox One S, as the console does not actually have a Bluetooth chip.

    The Xbox One S controller still connects to the console with the same wireless protocol as any standard Xbox One controller.

    It even works vice versa! You can also connect a regular Xbox One controller to an Xbox One S.

    The Xbox One console doesn't support Bluetooth. That headset won't work with the Xbox One in any way.

    The new Xbox One controllers (the ones that come with the Xbox One S) have Bluetooth, but that's only used to connect the controller to a Windows 10 PC through Bluetooth.

    The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

    Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

    Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.
