    Inconsistent performance in SX flight simulator and CTDs


    Far too many stutters in the game and I've experienced two CTDs since downloading the game not too long ago. I have the full 140gigs installed on my internal and a 16gig save. I play offline and have all the streaming, AI traffic, live weather, etc OFF and overall world density turned down to 60% on each slider... I even deleted/disabled rolling cache, and interestingly, that option is no longer available or greyed out, even after going back online in the game, enabling photogrammetry, bing updates, and all.

    I also freed up space on the SSD so it's now only 60% used and disconnected my external HDD from the console.

    Despite the above steps, I get horrendous stutters - the odd thing is even in relatively flat areas I get them every now and then as if it's trying to read something from the internal SSD.

    If I'm playing offline and have all the world data installed (there's literally nothing left to install in the content manager), then why am I still getting stutters, and why does it occasionally crash to dashboard?

    I've got zero issues with other games whether I play them through the internal or external.

    A little help please! Is this game not optimized for SX? Or can the SX simply not handle it?

    Flight Simulator on XBOX Game Pass not Installing/Downloading

    Hi,

    This could be caused by many different things as not all PC Windows configurations are the same. Your system meets the requirements, but be aware that the GTX 1650 only just about goes over the minimum. It shouldn't be the reason for the game not launching to begin the main install however.

    If you could have a look at the Windows Event Viewer and find the details of the crash, that may be of some help.

    Also, have a read of the official Microsoft Flight Simulator FAQ regarding crashing and CTD's.

    You will probably get better assistance on the official forums for Flight Simulator 2020, specifically the Bugs & Issues: Performance, Graphics & CTDs section of the forum.
