Inappropriate Store access for children

I've set up screen time limit and content restriction for my child on their xbox one. However, after their time expires and they are logged out it seems they can go to the Store and spend their time watching age inappropriate movie trailers. How do I prevent
that from happening?

The username latexboss is extremely inappropriate as young children play online and can make reference to sex in my opinion.

 

Limit the games children play?

Hi is there a way that stops children being able to access 12 or 18 rated games? I have an 8 year old son who I trust but would prefer for him not to have the temptation of being able to access older games. We are usually in the room with him when he plays
but it would be nice to know that if we leave the room we know he isn't going to access inappropriate material.

We suggest, if it hasn't already been done, to set up a
passkey for the account. Go ahead and let us know if we can further assist in this or any other issue!!

 

I went to Setting > Systems> Signed-out content restrictions.

The Access to content was set to Restricted.

and the Let people download & make new accounts box was unticked.

If I'm signed out and I try to start a game it asks Enter the guest key. However I can still go to the Store, without entering the guest key, and watch age inappropriate movies.

 

The last line should be "... age inappropriate movie trailers."

 

Sounds like a bit of an oversight, but hopefully it will get fixed.

Jeremy is here to drop some more tips! I do understand your situation since I try to restrict my lil brother from doing this or that with my account.

I would recommend to set up a
passkey and not a
Guest Key.

Guest key: Adds restrictions to guest accounts that are not real accounts created with an email. (mostly used for guests)

Passkey: Allows you to put restrictions on individual accounts that are on the console.

Once you sign into the account you want to restrict (or if it's a child account, then sign into the parent account) then go to your
Settings-> Account-> Sign in and security->
Change my sign-in and security-> Then scroll to the far right->
select customize<

After selecting customize all you need to do is apply any restrictions on the account. (Make sure to create a passkey in the process as well)

So I went to Settings > Account

> Sign-in, security & passkey (This was set to Lock it down)

> Change my sign=in & security preferences > Customise

Save your password was set to Password not saved

Ask for my passkey to change settings was set to Passkey required

Ask for my passkey to make purchases was set to Passkey required.

So I signed out and I could still go to the store and watch

age inappropriate movie trailers.

Your passkey is set to the maximum with lock it down. And other settings are good also with a passkey setup where the password is not saved automatically. What your describing is they are going to the store without anyone signed in, which unfortunately
is an operating system feature that is there to allow anyone to view the store, community, etc. without an account being signed in, and really no way to block it. Since there is no account signed in, your parental settings will not take into affect when they
view the Store when not signed in to their account. Ultimately the best way to keep them from this is monitor the usage after the time limit is up.

I suspected something like that might have been the case but I thought it best to check here to see if I had misunderstood something. Anyways, for the moment I've set a rule on the router to set time limits for the MAC address of the xbox, it solves the issue
in terms of time but unfortunately not in terms of content. Thanks nonetheless to you and all who replied.

As a follow up for those who may be interested, blocking the Wi-Fi, via the router, turned out to be counterproductive. Without Wi-Fi screen limits are no longer effective. Even with the Wi-Fi turned on a child can still access the Xbox settings menu and
then go offline and thereby gain endless offline hours.
