    Inactive Gamertags


    I have been wanting a certain gamertag for years now, but the account is inactive. The account is silver, has no games played, no gamerscore, default 3 star rep, recreation zone, and default gamer picture. I have a feeling they are holding it and selling
    it, but then again I've checked on it for years, and still no activity. A few years back Major Nelson said that they would be clearing these accounts out one by one, Still nothing. I am sure this is a irrelevant post but I thought I would share it. Is there
    any way I could get Microsoft to specifically look into this account's activity? Don't bash me please. Just wondering Inactive Gamertags :(

    Original gamertag is inaccessible & GLITCHED due to a inactive spaced version

    Inactive spaced gamertags should be removed and released. They are inactive, 100 percent inactive place holding gamertags.

    Do you think Microsoft will clear out old unused gamertags?

    They actually do this but its not live gamertags as much as Microsoft accounts goes inactive for x period they will purge it

    Inactive Gamertags

    That was awhile ago if it hasn't been released yet then you will have to keep checking to see if you can change to it

    It will never be announced or a on demand service because people will just sell names

    Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live so you can't know if the tag is in use or not.

    How to submit a ticket for requesting an inactive account gamertag to be reset?

    How do you know it's inactive? Gamertags are used on several Microsoft services,not just Xbox live,so there is no way to know if a gamertag is inactive or not.

    Just because a gamertag has low gamerscore of hasn't logged into Xbox live for a certain amount of time does not mean it's inactive.

    In this article, Microsoft teases that they may be releasing inactive Gamertags. Is it just false hope?

    "Will you be releasing old, inactive Gamertags for use on the Xbox One?

    The article is admittedly old, but it is from after they released inactive Gamertags the first time.
