Inactive Gamertag

I was wanting to make a Gamertag change, and the Gamertag I want to choose is taken already. However, I sent the Account associated with the Gamertag a friend request and looked and their played games. It showed no games played, 0 gamerscore, and was
on a Silver Account. My guess is that someone made a quick silver account years ago just to reserve that gamertag. I'd like to use the gamertag myself, as it seems silly to leave that gamertag to never be used again. I was wondering if you could recycle the

Original gamertag is inaccessible & GLITCHED due to a inactive spaced version

Inactive spaced gamertags should be removed and released. They are inactive, 100 percent inactive place holding gamertags.

 

Do you think Microsoft will clear out old unused gamertags?

They actually do this but its not live gamertags as much as Microsoft accounts goes inactive for x period they will purge it

No they won`t, they do not release tags upon request.

That account belongs to someone else, they may be using it for other services.

Have some originality and choose a gamertag of your own.
